Stoddard County Commission Accepting Sealed Bids for New Telephone System

Stoddard County, MO - The Stoddard County Commission will be accepting sealed bids on a complete new telephone system until 10 a.m. on monday, April 19, 2021.

The complete new telephone system will be for the Justice Center located at 403 South Prairie Street, Bloomfield.

Bids should include a cost breakdown for installation and equipment, including a time for completion upon approval of the bid.

To review the project scope, bidders should contact William Dowdy at (573) 421-7741 to schedule an appointment.

Sealed bids can be delivered by 10 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 to the Stoddard County Clerk Office at 401 South Prairie Street, or sent to PO Box 110, Bloomfield, MO 63825; (573) 568-3339.

Stoddard County Commission reserves the right to reject any bids received.

Route FF in Stoddard County Closed for Culvert Replacement

Route FF in Stoddard County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway. 

This section of roadway is located between County Road 533 and County Road 554.

Weather permitting, work will take place Friday, March 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work zone will be marked with signs.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on March 16, 2021, in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, March 22, 2021. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other

facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fifth.

Several Stoddard County Roads Closed Due to Excessive Rain

Stoddard County, MO - Several roads in Stoddard County have been reported closed or water over the roadway.

County Roads 732 and 783 have water over the roadway. 

County Road 624 is washed out about 1/4 mile from Highway AF. 

Highway AC at County Road 223 is washed out.

Water is over the roadway on Highway M near Mud Creek and north of Mud Creek before the curve.

Water is over HIghway KK between County Road 724 and County Road 732.

More rain is expected.  The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.  This will cause other tributaries and ponds to be also at peak capacity.

It only take a few inches of water to move a vehicle.  Do not attempt to cross a road covered in water.
