Dexter Golf Team Opens with a Victory

Kennett, MO - The Bearcats opened their golf season at Kennett on Monday, March 22, 2021.  They shot 181 beating second-place Kennett at 186 in a triple-dual match.  Sikeston earned a third place finish with a score of 191 and Caruthersville finished fourth with a score of 220.

Cy Worley shot a 3-over 39 to lead Dexter.

"Overall not bad for our first match," commented Eric Sitze, Dexter High School Golf Coach. "Cy had a good round and was medalist. Kenton Pope and Alyssa Warren also played well for us."

"We are looking forward to seeing their improvement throughout the season."

Final Individual Scores:

DEXTER BEARCATS: Cy Worley 39, Dylan Sitze 44, Kenton Pope 47, Alyssa Warren 51, and Matt Hardin 56.

KENNETT INDIANS: Joe Wilson 43, Ryan Creed 46, Will Johnson 47, Nate Mode 50, and Dax Sutton 65.

SIKESTON BULLDOGS: Peyton Spurlock 44, Ben Schrumpf 46, Leighton Tarter 50, Jay Lape 51, and Cullen Pearson 60.

CARUTHERSVILLE TIGERS: Carter Long 43, Trey Thompson 53, Jackson Holder 57, and Brent Ayers 67.

Class 4, District 1 boys basketball honors were announced on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.  Three Dexter High School players earned a spot.  Seniors Andrew Ellinghouse, Ryder Boles, and Jackson Allen were among the ten athletes.

2021 Jackson Jr. High 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament Schedule Released

Jackson, MO - The 2021 Jackson Jr. High 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament is set for Saturday, March 20th.  the games will be played in both event center courts #1 and #2, the multipurpose gym and the old gym.  The gyms are a 15 second walk from each other.

All games will run ahead of schedule for pool play if possible.  When the officials and both teams are ready, the tournament bracket games will begin.

The cost to enter is $3.00 for adults, $2 for students and 8 and under are free.

Match Format

Warm-up will be 4-4 (includes serving) before the first match played for each team.  

For subsequent matches, the warm-up will be 3-3 (includes serving).

Pool play games will consist of two sets to 25 points.  All pool play games will start with a score of 6-6.

There will not be a cap on any game, pool play, or tournament.

Tournament Format

Top two teams in each pool will go to Gold Bracket.  Third and Fourth place teams go to the Silver Bracket.  Fifth place teams will not advance to bracket play.

Tournament games will be the best two out of three sets to 25 points, with the score starting 6-6.  

The third set, if necessary, will be to 25. The third set will start with a score of 12-12.  NO CAP
