Mary Lou Northern, daughter of the late Thomas Pulliam and Evelyn Wyatt Pulliam, was born on February 9, 1944 in Doniphan, Missouri, and departed this life on February 24, 2021 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 77 years.
Mrs. Northern was a former babysitter in the Dexter area. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.
On December 24, 1965, in Charleston, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Northern. Mr. Northern preceded her in death on November 14, 1998.
She is survived by her son, Scott Northern and wife Robin of Dexter, Missouri; by her daughter, Michele Silvey and husband Ron of Joplin, Missouri; by three brothers, George Pulliam of Grayridge, Missouri, Daniel Pulliam of Essex, Missouri, and Virgil Pulliam of Wappapello, Missouri; by three sisters, Laura Heppe and Kay Etherton, both of Essex, Missouri, and Betty Lampkin of Arkansas; and by seven grandchildren, Joseph Northern of Columbia, Missouri, Rebekah Northern of Jackson, Wyoming, Andrew Northern of Columbia, Missouri, Mackinlee Rogers of Oxford, Mississippi, Blair Rogers of Columbia, Missouri, and Hannah Silvey and Sarah Silvey, both of Joplin, Missouri.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death her brother, James Pulliam; and by her sister, Ruth Teague.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dale Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Essex Cemetery.
