In Memory of Burnettie Faye Peacock

Burnettie Faye Peacock, daughter of the late John Harvey Thomason and Flossie Evans Thomason, was born on February 8, 1935 in Campbell, Missouri, and departed this life on January 27, 2021 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 85 years.

Mrs. Peacock was a former employee of Golden Living Center in Dexter, Missouri, retiring after 30 years of service. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Restorative Aid. She was of the Christian faith and she was a resident of Dexter.

She is survived by four sons, Scottie Peacock and wife Debbie of Shelbina, Missouri, Jimmie Peacock and wife Lois of Lebanon, Missouri, Jerry Peacock of Dexter, Missouri, and Philip Peacock of Cheektowaga, New York; by her daughter, Rena Johnson and husband Garry of Round Rock, Texas; by two brothers, Bobby Thomason of Elk Ridge, Maryland and DeWayne Thomason of Madison, Wisconsin; by ten grandchildren, Phoebe Ransom and husband Chris and Corey Peacock, all of Shelbina, Missouri, David Peacock and wife Melleny of Bloomfield, Missouri, Zach Johnson and wife Chloe of Irving, Texas, Natalie Johnson of Round Rock, Texas, Desiree Peacock of Concord, North Carolina, Connor Peacock of Cheektowaga, New York, Heather Hipkins and husband Gary of Shelbina, Missouri, Chasity Karl and husband Paul and Jonathan Peacock, all of Columbia, Missouri, Tony Shaffer and Danielle Whitaker of Bloomfield, Missouri by ten great-grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Emma, Kayne, Kyle and wife Brandi, Amber, Trey, Colin, Blake, and Michael; by two great-great-grandchildren, Amberlyn and Antonio; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Peacock and John Randall Peacock; by two brothers, Eugene Thomason and Jerry Paul Thomason; by two sisters, Patsy Thomason and Jewell Batchelor; by her grandson, Justin Peacock; and by her ex-husband, Johnny Peacock.

Funeral services will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hagy Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
