Williams “Bill” A. Miranda, son of the late Manuel Miranda and Irene Silva Miranda was born on September 7, 1938 at Somerville, Massachusetts, and departed this life in Southeast Health of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on January 22, 2021 at the age of 82.
Mr. Miranda served his country as a 20-year veteran of the United States Marine Corp, retiring as a E-7 Gunnery Sergeant. After military retirement, he returned to Dexter where he was the Plant Manager for The Munter’s Corporation, was the former manager for several Southeast Missouri Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant’s, and was the former maintenance supervisor for the First Baptist Church in Dexter. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, was the former Commander of the Kenady-Hanks Post 51 American Legion in Dexter and was a former member of the Kenady-Hanks Post Military Honor Guard.
He was united in marriage to Mary Martin on June 25, 1960 at San Fernando, California. Mrs. Miranda survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard (Pam) Miranda of Sikeston and Kevin (Tina) Miranda of Springfield: by two daughters, Linda Miranda and Kelly (Jeremy) Grams, both of Dexter; by one brother, Richard Miranda of Buena Vista, California; by one sister, Joann Hormuth of Borrego Springs, California; by nine grandchildren, LaTisha (Britt) Arnold, Caleb (Analise) Miranda, Connor Miranda, Tera (Shannon) Eubanks, Kyle (Allison) Espey, Miranda (Leighton) Hensley, Devon Rogers, Jaxen Grams and Jett Grams; and by twelve grandchildren, Taven Owens, Braxton Arnold, Dyson Arnold, Kannon Arnold, Skylon Arnold, Austin Eubanks, Aubrie Eubanks, Blakelee Hensley, Walker Hensley, Layla Hensley, Kal Espey and Lucas Standridge.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melanie Miranda.
Friends may call at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Kohlbaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Full Military Honors.
