In Memory of Earl Eugene Hagy

Earl Eugene Hagy son of the late John Wilson Hagy and Beatrice Scott Hagy was born on April 19, 1959 in Onley, Illinois and departed this life on December 20, 2020 at the Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 61.

Earl is survived by his wife, Janet of forty-two years; by two sons, Earl Jr. of Arnold, Missouri and Alex D. of Las Cruces, New Mexico; by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; by two brothers, John Jr. and James Allen; by five sisters, Nellie, Claudia, Carolyn, Wanda and Juanita.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earnest “Jody”, Estell and Vincent and by four sisters, Cora, Vida, Doris and Sandy.

Visitation will be conducted on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with his sons, Earl Jr. and Alex speaking. Interment will follow in the Hagy cemetery.

In Memory of David Lee Sutton, Jr.

David Lee Sutton, Jr., son of Linda Blumenberg Sutton of East Prairie and the late David Lee Sutton, Sr., was born on July 19, 1969 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed this life December 19, 2020 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 51. David Lee worked alongside his father for many years on the boat before becoming Chief Engineer at Luhr Brothers Inc in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

On August 13, 1991 at the First Baptist Church in East Prairie, he married Leigh Ann Ogle Sutton, who survives of the home.

Other than his wife and mother, David Lee is survived by two sons, Trey Sutton (Emily Lawrence) of Jackson and Taylor Sutton of East Prairie; special nephew, Myles Brown of East Prairie; two sisters, Kara Shea (Anthon) Moody of East Prairie and Tracy Harget of Poplar Bluff; one granddaughter, Mabree Sutton; his beloved dog, Sadie and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston, MO from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Bro. Jon Archie officiating. Burial will follow at East Prairie Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Duke Thresher, Brent Thresher, Shawn Archie, Matt Blumenberg, Steve Jones, Gordon Jones, Jon Archie, Stephen Groves.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Blumenberg, Bobby McTigue, Randy Stark, Chad Stark, Todd Sterling, Darrin Williams, Carl Moore and Wayne Davis.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Lois Jane Parker

Lois Jane Parker, daughter of Betty Dunning Parker and the late Hershel Lester Parker was born on September 5, 1949 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on December 19, 2020 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 71. 

Lois was a member of Risen Church, a graduate of Dexter High School in 1967 and previously worked as a Caregiver to various people. She enjoyed reading books and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Pyle Bollinger. 

She is survived by her mother, Betty Dunning Parker of Dexter; two sons, Brian (Tara) Pyle, Joe (Leslie) Pyle, both of Dexter; brother, Harold “Fuzz” (Brenda) Parker of Dexter; grandchildren, Braden (Jackie Bevill) Bollinger, Kassidey (Drake) Mitchell, Hannah Bollinger, Emily Pyle, Katie Pyle, Kilie Pyle, Lucy Pyle; the father of her children, Junior (Norma) Pyle and many other family and close friends. 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

The family would like express a special thanks to her nurses: Rosa Fyfe, Kelly Adams, Jordi Flores, Maci Harris and many others that have helped her for the last year.

In Memory of Larry Dean Logan

Larry Dean Logan was born August 13, 1939 near Bernie, Missouri, to the late Chelsie Lee Logan and Tressie Causbie Logan and departed this life on December 17, 2020 at Select Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 81.

On January 26, 1963, he married Bonnie Kifer, who survives. His three daughters and their husbands also survive; Deanna and Danny Burke of Rogersville, Missouri, Lisa and Kevin Spitzer of Malden, Missouri, and Lana and Tim Temples of Dexter, Missouri. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Dustin Burke, Devon Gengler, Lari Jean Hardin and Tucker Temples, and by two great- grandchildren; Chloe and Wyatt Burke.

Mr. Logan worked many years as a young man for Jack Estes and Marshall Vowels of Vowels Tire and Appliance in Dexter. He opened Four County Farm Center in Malden in the early 1970’s, retiring in 1996.

Mr. Logan attended Bernie General Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services immediately following at the Bernie Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Lorn B. Allstun

Lorn B. Allstun, son of the late Thomas Allstun and Carrie Tracer Allstun, was born on February 20, 1923 in Frisco, Missouri and departed this life on December 16, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 97 years.

Mr. Allstun was a Veteran of the United States Army, 9th Division, serving in World War II and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and at the Rhine River. For his military service, he received two purple hearts and a marksmanship commendation for rifles and hand grenades. After leaving the Army, he owned a concrete construction company, he was a farmer, and he was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.

In 1940, he was first united in marriage to Marie Williams. Mrs. Marie Allstun preceded him in death on January 20, 1989. On July 13, 1990, he was then united in marriage to Ada Middleton. Mrs. Ada Allstun preceded him in death on April 4, 2013.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Kitchens and husband Bill of Dexter and Barbara Stroup of Bloomfield; by three grandchildren, Brady Ryan Stroup, Regina Brown and husband Johnny, and Terry Kitchens; by six great-grandchildren, Nikki Brown and husband Kevin, Ashley Brown and fiancé Tyler Cummins, Brittany Vaughan and husband Chase, Josh Horn, Ryann Marie Stroup, and Auttum Jean Stroup; by five great-great grandchildren, Gabby Brown, Brandie Brown, Madi Brown, Cooper Vaughan, and Kayleen Horn.

Besides his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Allstun, Charlie Allstun, and Arthur Allstun; by seven sisters, Bessie Shipman, Edith Guest, Pansy Vaughn, Lily Fortner, Lucy Harrison, Alice Abbott, and Ruth Larsen; and by his grandson, Larry Kitchens.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Herman Morse officiating. Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery.

The family respectfully requests that everyone wear a mask.
