James Chambers was born January 31, 1960 in Paulding, Ohio and entered into heaven on his son John’s birthday November 8, 2020 at the age of 60. He is the son of the late Dewey Chambers and Lydia Wyatt.
After the death of his father, at a very young age, he and his two sisters were raised by two remarkable women: Grandma Clem, who thought Jim could do no wrong, and Aunt Gladys whom became “Mom”
After graduating from Chaffee High School and trying the “College” Life, he married the love of his life, Mary Blattel on September 18, 1982.
Soon after, he decided to “try” law enforcement. He told Sheriff Bill Ferrell “I probably won’t be here long” and after a twenty-year career at Scott County he went to work for the Cape Girardeau Police Department. He then landed his “dream job” of becoming Chief of Police in Chaffee. He truly loved Chaffee and the people whom he served.
Over the years, he coached many baseball, softball and basketball teams in town. He loved playing golf with his buddies and spending time with his ELK Brothers. Together Jim and Mary raised three great kids Jimmy Chambers, Nikki (Marcus) LeGrand and John (Miranda Ruedrich) Chambers. Along with Miranda came his “true joy” Noah, whom he was proud to have him call him PaPa! He is also survived by his mom: Gladys Chambers, his two sisters: Nancy Chambers of Chaffee, Mo, and Mary Ann (Daryl) Wyatt of Kennett, MO. After marriage, Mary’s brothers and sisters became his: Edie (Leon) Eeftink, Darrel (Joan) Blattel, Gerald (Marge) Blattel, Sherry (Duncey), Dunseith, Patsy (Dale) Tenkhoff and Brad Blattel. A special godson: Mac Sadler and family.
Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his Grandma Clem, Grandma Elsie Scott, Grandma Anne Glastetter, Grandpa Bud Wyatt, his in-laws: Norman “Boss” and Rose “Tootie” Blattel
There will be a memorial visitation, Thursday November 12, 2020 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Prayer Service will start at 5 pm with the ELK service immediately following.
Memorial Visitation will follow until 8 pm. Funeral mass will be at 11 am on Friday November 13, 2020 at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Father Joe Kelly, Father John Harth and Father Mike McDevitt officiating.
Committal will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Joyce Lorene Kennedy, daughter of the late Fred Andrew Edwards ad Donnie Ezmal Sanders Edwards, was born in Campbell, Missouri on October 3, 1932 and departed this life at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri on November 7, 2020 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Kennedy was the Owner and Operator of the “Golden Flame” Restaurant in Bernie, Missouri, and was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church of Rural Campbell, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Paul Edward Kennedy in Piggott, Arkansas on June 3, 1950. Mr. Kennedy survives in their home in Bernie, Missouri.
Other survivors include one son Rick Kennedy & wife Paulette of Bernie, Missouri; by five daughters, Donna Norden & husband Mike of Bernie, Missouri, Rhonda Rinker & husband Dave of Valles Mines, Missouri, Joy Nell Williams & husband Terry of Bunker, Missouri, Beverly Adams & husband Bob of Malden, Missouri, and Kim Blake & husband Lannie of Malden, Missouri; by one daughter-in-law, Peggy Sue Kennedy of Bernie, Missouri; by Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded on death other than by her parents, by one son, Robert Edward Kennedy; by two brothers, Douglas Edwards and Gary Edwards; by two sisters, Lois Kildow and Vera Downs.
Friends may call at Bethany General Baptist Church in Rural Campbell, Missouri on Wednesday November 11, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. at Bethany General Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.

Wanda “Cookie” West, daughter of the late Jake Grubbs and Jean Ann Taylor Grubbs, was born on August 24, 1951 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on November 8, 2020 at her residence in Dexter, at the age of 69 years.
Mrs. West was a former employee of Paramount Hat Company and a former bartender for the Paperdoll Playboy Lounge.
She is survived by her long-time companion, Von “Dago” Baker of Dexter; by five sons, Jamie West of Dexter, Jason West of Bloomfield, Jeff Baker of Puxico, Michael Baker of Van Buren, and Brian Baker of Lebanon; and by her daughter, Tammy Baker of Dexter; by three brothers, Russell Grubbs of Bloomfield, Roger Grubbs and Donald Grubbs both of Dexter; by four sisters, Patsy McCoy, Mary Tucker, and Debby Grubbs all of Dexter, and Christina Grubbs of Doniphan; and by thirteen grandchildren, Seth West, Payln West, Shelly West, Tiffany West, Chloe Clark, Corey West, Josh Holderfield, Danielle Holderfield, Vincent Wakefield, Aaron Joe DeJournett, Jade Cain, Brianna Cain, and Dalton Pearson; and by twenty great-grandchildren.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Lynn “Nanner” Holderfield.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery.

Robert Dale "Bob" Garner was born March 16, 1927, to Robert Alexander and Cora DeArman Garner in Pyletown, Missouri. He departed from this life on November 7, 2020, at Winchester Place in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 93.
He married Maxine Clary on July 13, 1950, in PIggott, Arkansas, and then moved to Michigan for work. After the birth of their fourth child, they returned to Missouri and settled near the family farm.
Bob served in Korea during World War II, and worked many years in construction before establishing Busy B's Lumber in Dexter, Missouri. He believed deeply in hard work. Problems could be solved by waking up earlier and staying later--and if that didn't work, baling wire and duct tape usually did.
He enjoyed riding, training, and showing Tennessee Walking horses. He was a regular attendee at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee. His love of horses led him to taking grandchildren on long trail rides with the Cardiac Cowboys.
Bob was a New Testament Christian and a member of the Church of Christ at Dexter, Missouri. He was a humble and serious follower of Jesus who never stopped studying and learning.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maxine Garner, of Dexter; daughters Debby (Vernon) Allen of Dexter and Vicki (Phillip) Walker of Bartlett, Tennessee; and sons Ron (Julie) Garner and Scott (Emily) Garner, both of Dexter, and one daughter-in-law Jody Garner of Dyersburg, TN; 15 grandchildren, and 24 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Marvin (Evelyn) Garner and one sister, Maxine Gillis, both of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lester, Ivan, Hubert, Chester, Larry, Lewis, and Loyd Garner and sisters Myrl Cook, Emma Stallion, and Norma Grubbs. He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Garner.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Dexter church of Christ. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with Jeremy Tucker officiating. Grandsons Justin Allen, Jeremy Allen, Bobby Garner, Sam Garner, Alex Garner, John Garner, Phillip Walker, Jr. and Stephen Walker will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will follow at Caroline Dowdy Cemetery, with Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Home, Inc., in Paragould, Arkansas, or Bootheel Youth Camp, in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Patricia Wilkerson, daughter of the late Everett Cecil and Juanita Newton Cook, was born on December 5, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and departed this life on November 5, 2020 at Southeast Health of Stoddard County, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 69 years.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a former employee of Pyramid Home Health and she was a resident of Parma, Missouri. She enjoyed painting artwork, she was crafty, and she loved pets.
She is survived by her son, Billy Davis of Oklahoma; by her daughter, Vicki Martin and husband Leland of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Christine Ainslie of Hereford, Texas and Dawn Cook of Canalou, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Jade Davis, Brody Davis, Joshua Heintz, Michael Cantrell, and Derek Miller; and by one great-grandchild.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Cecil, and by two sisters, Shirley Weber and Vicki Wynne.
