Wanda “Cookie” West, daughter of the late Jake Grubbs and Jean Ann Taylor Grubbs, was born on August 24, 1951 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on November 8, 2020 at her residence in Dexter, at the age of 69 years.
Mrs. West was a former employee of Paramount Hat Company and a former bartender for the Paperdoll Playboy Lounge.
She is survived by her long-time companion, Von “Dago” Baker of Dexter; by five sons, Jamie West of Dexter, Jason West of Bloomfield, Jeff Baker of Puxico, Michael Baker of Van Buren, and Brian Baker of Lebanon; and by her daughter, Tammy Baker of Dexter; by three brothers, Russell Grubbs of Bloomfield, Roger Grubbs and Donald Grubbs both of Dexter; by four sisters, Patsy McCoy, Mary Tucker, and Debby Grubbs all of Dexter, and Christina Grubbs of Doniphan; and by thirteen grandchildren, Seth West, Payln West, Shelly West, Tiffany West, Chloe Clark, Corey West, Josh Holderfield, Danielle Holderfield, Vincent Wakefield, Aaron Joe DeJournett, Jade Cain, Brianna Cain, and Dalton Pearson; and by twenty great-grandchildren.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Lynn “Nanner” Holderfield.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery.
