Betty Jean Owens, daughter of the late Elbert Wheatley and Lela Duck Wheatley, was born on November 9, 1936 in Dorena, Missouri, and departed this life on October 26, 2020 at Hunter Acres Care Center in Sikeston, Missouri, at the age of 83 years.
Mrs. Owens retired from Falcon Communications in Malden, Missouri, where she worked as an assembler. She was a member of the Dexter Elks and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Glen Owens. Mr. Owens preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Larry Tennison of St. Louis, Missouri; by her sister, Patricia Williams of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother, Wayne Marquis of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and by five grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Celia Delwiche; by three brothers, J. W. Wheatley, Paul Wheatley, and Elbert Junior Wheatley; and by her sister, Carolyn Lamar.
