In Memory of June Faye Mathis

June Faye Mathis, daughter of the late John H. Lawrence and Chloe Robling Lawrence, was born on June 10, 1937 in Grayridge, Missouri, and departed this life on October 21, 2020 in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Mathis formerly worked in retail sales for Stovall’s Department Store and as manager of the Dexter Cato’s store.  She attended the First United Methodist Church in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter.

On October 31, 1953, in Sikeston, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Vernon Mathis.  Mr. Mathis survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to her husband Vernon, she is survived by two sons, David Mathis and wife Cathy of Wappapello, and Greg Mathis and wife Lisa of Dexter; by seven grandchildren, Ambre Curran, Eric Lawrence Mathis, Lauren June Starks, Aaron Mathis, Hannah Hindman, Hunter Mathis, and Elijah Mathis; and by nine great-grandchildren, Zach Curran, Jacob Curran, Madalyn Lockhart, Colton Starks, Camden Starks, Maurice Davis, Taylor Ward, Harper Mathis, and Blake Mathis.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Scott Mathis; by her brother, Jimmie Lawrence; and by her great-grandson, Xaiden Starks.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
