
Jimmie Dale Norris, son of the late Herman Norris and Elsie Sifford Norris, was born on December 10, 1931 in Chaffee, Missouri, and departed this life on September 27, 2020 at his residence in Puxico, Missouri, at the age of 88 years.
Mr. Norris was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was a former millwright machine repairman for General Motors in Flint, Michigan. For 15 years, he was a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Jim was a member of the Puxico General Baptist Church. He was always involved in church; he was a Sunday school teacher, led worship services, and he was a church secretary.
On October 28, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, he was united in marriage to Deloris Jean Pruett. Mrs. Norris survives of their home in Puxico.
In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by two sons, Jimmie Dale Norris Jr. and wife Nancy of NE, Pennsylvania and Daniel Norris and wife Angie of Cedar Hill, Missouri; by his daughter, Mary Fields and husband David of Farmers Branch, Texas; by his sister, Floella Deardorff of Aid, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Hannah Bedrosian, Dani Agre, Madison Norris, Connor Fields, and McKaylee Norris; by two great-grandchildren, Luca Bedrosian and Edith Bedrosian; and by one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Norris, by his sister, Vera Almond; and by his grandson, Jimmie Dale Norris III.
Visitation will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield, Missouri on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted at the Assembly of God Church on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Norris and Rev. David Fields officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Kenneth Lambert officiating and with full military honors.
