Viola Brown, daughter of the late Hadley Brockmire and LaVern Robert Brockmire was born on August 7, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on August 14, 2020 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88.
Viola was a strong, independent woman, who loved taking care of her family. Besides taking care of her family, she loved her cats and grandpuppies, and loved and cared for them like her own. She was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439. She was a member and proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited.
On July 11, 1952 she was united in marriage to Willard Brown in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on January 28, 1997.
She is survived by one son, Steve Brown and wife Tonya of Dexter, Missouri; by three daughters, Janet Baker and husband David of Dexter, Missouri, Susan Cutler and husband Mark of St. Charles, Missouri and Patty Ahlert and her husband Dan of Nashville, Tennessee; by five grandchildren, David L. Baker, Zac Cutler, Miles Brown, Alexis Ahlert and Abby Smith; by one great-grandchild, Marley Cutler and by four sisters, Elva Alsobrook of Vancouver, Washington, Lori Page of Sequim, Washington, Bobby Rickman and Judi Hindman both of Dexter, Missouri.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of Viola’s services will be private. Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter will accept floral arrangements and expressions of sympathy for the family.
