
Viola Brown, daughter of the late Hadley Brockmire and LaVern Robert Brockmire was born on August 7, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on August 14, 2020 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88.
Viola was a strong, independent woman, who loved taking care of her family. Besides taking care of her family, she loved her cats and grandpuppies, and loved and cared for them like her own. She was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439. She was a member and proud supporter of Ducks Unlimited.
On July 11, 1952 she was united in marriage to Willard Brown in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on January 28, 1997.
She is survived by one son, Steve Brown and wife Tonya of Dexter, Missouri; by three daughters, Janet Baker and husband David of Dexter, Missouri, Susan Cutler and husband Mark of St. Charles, Missouri and Patty Ahlert and her husband Dan of Nashville, Tennessee; by five grandchildren, David L. Baker, Zac Cutler, Miles Brown, Alexis Ahlert and Abby Smith; by one great-grandchild, Marley Cutler and by four sisters, Elva Alsobrook of Vancouver, Washington, Lori Page of Sequim, Washington, Bobby Rickman and Judi Hindman both of Dexter, Missouri.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of Viola’s services will be private. Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter will accept floral arrangements and expressions of sympathy for the family.

Rhonda England Martinek, 68, of Poplar Bluff, passed away August 10, 2020 in Poplar Bluff. Rhonda was born February 4, 1952 to Cleo and Juanita England.
She is survived by her loving daughters Tammy Mallard (Shane), Heather Hastings (Mark), and Lesli Campbell (Terry). She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Steven, Cassie, Taylor, Nathan, Molly, Emma, Marcus, and Riah; and her great grandchildren, Maverick and Miley. She was a loving and caring person, devoted to her family and friends.
Rhonda is also survived by her brother Garry England (JoAnne). She was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan; and by two brothers Allan and Ron England.
Visitation is on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter with Memorial at 2:00 p.m. with her son-in-law, Shane Mallard officiating.

Maynard E Bresee (Bud) was called to his heavenly home on July 24, 2020. Bud was born in Pottawattamie, Iowa to Larry and Ellen Bresee on May 1, 1926. He was 94 years old.
Bud started a family with Marie Green Bresee, they resided in Bloomfield, MO. Bud and Marie had 3 children: Larry, Patty and Eddie. All whom proceed him in death.
Bud was a successful insurance agent with Farm Bureau well over 30 years in the Stoddard County area. He was also the mayor of Bloomfield and was very active in creating the Crowley Ridge Recreation Center where he enjoyed spending much of his time playing golf with family and friends.
Bud married and joined families with Colleen (Hopkins) Bresee on August 26, 1987 at Bloomfield’s First General Baptist Church. They spent many years in Bloomfield while traveling and enjoying life. Eventually they retired to their home in Haines City, Florida where they enjoyed their days with friends and family on the golf course and playing cards.
Bud was a sibling of 6 others: Winona(deceased) Betty Zoe, Dewayne, Elbert, Jerry and Joyce all residing in various states.
He is leaving a legacy of love to his wife Colleen, daughter in law Donna and family, 5 grandkids Rob, Heather, Eva, Spencer, and Lisa, 11 great grandkids Robyn, River, Jewel, Rachel(deceased), Skyler, Jonathan, Jasmine, Selah, Tanner, Oliver, and Bailey and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services will be held August 12, 2020, Wednesday at Bloomfield Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. A small gathering and meal be held at 12:00pm at The Gathering on North Outer Road in Dexter, MO.

Dillan Foster, son of Michael Foster Sr. and Veronica Lingle Foster, was born on October 14, 1995 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed this life on August 5, 2020 at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 24 years.
Dillan had a huge heart and a smile that could light up a room and would turn your bad day into a good one in a matter of seconds. He loved helping people and being able to share the love of Christ with others. He also had a love for cars, especially Mustangs. Anyone who knew Dillan, knew he always had a song in his heart, and he would gladly sing it to you, if you would take the time to listen. His passion for music included more than singing, he loved to play the piano, and used his gift to bless many people. He always did whatever he could to make you smile. He was an amazing son, a wonderful brother and a great friend. He will be missed more than words could ever say.
He is survived by his father, Michael Foster Sr. of Bloomfield; by his mother, Veronica Foster of Dexter; by three brothers, Michael Foster Jr. of Dexter, Daniel Foster of Dexter and Eli Foster of Bloomfield; by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Sharon Foster of Bloomfield; and by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Gilder of Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Lingle.
Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the George Cemetery in Aquilla.

Martha Jean Stafford, 94, born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on August 1, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, and son Lee Roy.
Martha was a skilled seamstress and loved crafts of every kind. She was an active member of the Fort Dade Extension Club for many years where she enjoyed her friends and endless creative projects.
Martha is survived by a son, Keith (Christy), two daughters, Glenda (Jim) and Andrea (Bink), two grandsons, two granddaughters, three great granddaughters and a great grandson, Ryan, with whom she had a special bond.
Graveside services will be conducted at Dexter Cemetery on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
