In Memory of Michael Steven Lambert

Michael Steven Lambert, son of the late Nolean Beardsley and Marjorie Meritt McGuire, was born on July 26, 1951 in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed this life on June 11, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 68 years.

Mr. Lambert was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam war.  He worked in construction as a concrete finisher.  Steve loved the outdoors; he was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed camping at the river with his family and friends.

Steve Lambert wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke, he always said something that made you think or made you laugh.

He was united in marriage to Jo Lynne Graham on June 21, 1975, in Lutesville, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Lynne, by his son, Michael and wife Jessica; by his daughter, Jaime; by two grandchildren, Emily and Dawson; by two brothers, Charlie and wife Michelle, and Eric; by two sisters, Vicki and Lori; by his uncle, Tom Meritt; by his aunt, Joan Peters; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his grandparents; by his sister, Sherry; and by two brothers, Randy and Jimmy.

He loved his daughter Jaime, she would tell you she was his favorite.  His son and namesake, Michael, also knew he was his favorite.  Being their Dad was, in his eyes, his greatest accomplishment.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support.  Steve was truly loved and will be truly missed, but we know his ending here on earth is just the beginning in heaven.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Otis Long officiating.
