In Memory of Denver Lee Gregory

Denver Lee Gregory, son of the late James W. Gregory and Lily Boone Gregory, was born on December 24, 1927 and departed this life on May 12, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 92 years.

Mr. Gregory was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a former farmer, a former school bus driver for Dexter R-XI School District, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Edith Jerline Vails on August 24, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mrs. Gregory preceded him in death on November 5, 2019.

He is survived by four sons, Jerry Gregory and wife Marsha of Rockford, Illinois, Barry Gregory and wife Debra of Rockford, Illinois, Dennis Gregory of Bernie, Missouri, and Rick Gregory and wife Laurie of Atlanta, Georgia; by his brother, Loyd Gregory of Rockford, Illinois; by ten grandchildren; and by thirteen great-grandchildren.    

Other than by his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale Gregory, Otis Gregory, Darrel Gregory, and Howard Gregory; and by three sisters, Onvall Noyes, Ann Henderson, and Hazel Crouch.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Doug West officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
