In Memory of Pansy Pauline Kleffer Link Darby

Pansy Pauline Kleffer Link Darby, daughter of the late George Martin Kleffer and Lozettie Patterson Kleffer, was born on March 23, 1927 in Clewiston, Florida and was called to heaven on April 17, 2020 at Bloomfield Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

Pansy was first united in marriage to Vader L. Link on August 28, 1951 in Essex, Missouri.  She was a dedicated farm wife for 52 years before Vader preceded her in death on November 14, 2001.  She did everything from keeping track of cows, calves, feed, or whatever was needed on a family owned farm.

Pansy worked a few jobs outside the home but her most important job was being a mom.  She raised a lady who learned so much about being loving, caring and giving through life no matter what was thrown at her.  Pansy always instilled the belief of being kind and thoughtful to others no matter what.

Later in life she became a wife again to James. L. Darby on January 18, 2003 in Bloomfield, Missouri.  They enjoyed camping, going to dinner, playing dominoes and became involved with their Church until health forced her to step back.  Mr. Darby survives of their home in Dexter.

Pansy loved to make different things for loved ones, like crocheting everything from blankets to potholders.  She always kept her faith with reading the bible, studying the Sunday school lesson, and always with Prayer.

Pansy professed faith in Jesus Christ at the early age of 13.  She attended New Bethel General Baptist Church in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter.

In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gaines of Dexter; by three grandchildren, David Alberson of Jackson, Kelli J Channell of Dexter, and Ashleigh J. Briscoe of Inola, Oklahoma; by her step-son, Jerry Darby of Malden; by her step-daughter, Paula Holekamp and husband Richard of Jackson; by ten great-grandchildren; and by two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; by her parents; by her brother, Charles Sonny Kleffer; and by three sisters, Georgia Zipse, Maxine Davenport, and Dorothy Baker.

A private, family only, funeral service will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, April 20, 2020 with Rev. Jerry Darby officiating.  Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

Funeral services may be viewed via webcast at mathisfuneralhomes.com or on the Mathis Funeral Home Facebook page.  Expressions of sympathy, honoring Mrs. Darby, will be accepted at the funeral home.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charges of all arrangements.
