
David Eldon Stafford, son of the late Thomas Allen Stafford and Minnie Bell Allen Stafford, was born on October 12, 1912, in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on February 26, 2020 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 107 years.
Mr. Stafford was the former postmaster in Essex, Missouri and a resident of Essex. He was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex and a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Bloomfield, Missouri.
On September 30, 1940, in Stoddard County, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Lillie Venetia Pullum. Mrs. Stafford preceded him in death on November 3, 1996.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Karam and husband Michael of Memphis, Tennessee; and by his granddaughter, Kathryn Karam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by twin infant sons; by four brothers, Thomas Stafford, Olan Stafford, Blaine Stafford, and Hurley Stafford; by two sisters, Lola Reynolds and Odessa Gibbs; and by his granddaughter, Carla Karam.
Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Malloy officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

Gerald E. Jackson, 93, was born in Aid, MO on September 13, 1926 to Oscar (Lon) Jackson and Jessie (Parks) Jackson and departed this life on February 27, 2020 at Cypress Point Nursing Home in Dexter, MO.
Gerald was born, lived and farmed in the Aid community until he retired at the age of 65. He attended school in Aid until the 8th grade at which time the school was consolidated with Bloomfield, ultimately graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1944. Gerald was united in marriage to Wanda (Woolard) Jackson on May 18, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas. Wanda preceded him in death on September 25, 2015.
Gerald was devoted in raising their four children, and later enjoyed attending many school activities in support of his grandchildren. He took great pride in his dairy and row-crop farming operation. Gerald loved to play traveling baseball throughout southeast Missouri in his younger years and later became well-known for his expertise for pitching horseshoes and playing checkers. He served two terms on the Bloomfield R-XIV Board of Education and was proud of the fact that his children graduated from college. Upon retiring from farming, Gerald and Wanda moved to Dexter in 1991. Gerald was a former member of the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church, Aid, MO and current member of Risen Church in Dexter, MO.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Duckworth (Clinton), Dexter, MO; his sons, Ken Jackson (Jamie), Dexter, MO, and Mark Jackson (Kim), Bloomfield, MO; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Pauline Gaskins, of Dexter, MO and one sister-in-law, Jean Jackson of Dexter, MO.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, of 69 years; his parents and stepmother, Nora Shrum Jackson; one brother, Farrell Jackson; one sister, Geraldine Pelat; and a son, Ron Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1 from Noon to 1:30 pm with the funeral immediately following at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, MO.

Calvin Ray Sandlin, son of the late Fieldin Floyd Sandlin and Dorothy Rice Sandlin was born on April 17, 1965 in Malden, Missouri and departed this life on February 21, 2020 at the Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois at the age of 54.
Mr. Sandlin was a truck driver and a resident of Dexter. He was a member of the Broseley Church of Christ and was baptized there when he was younger. He enjoyed to fish and hunt, and work his hunting dogs.
On April 13, 1991 he was united in marriage to Christine Casey in Dexter, Missouri. Mrs. Sandlin survives of their residence in Dexter.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Dylan Sandlin of Dexter, Quentin Sandlin of Dexter and Aaron Sandlin of Dexter; by one daughter, Linda Kirkpatrick of Bernie; by two grandchildren, Larissa Throckmorton and Colton “Lane” Grigery; by four brothers, Raymond Sandlin of Poplar Bluff, Melvin Sandlin of Bernie, Larry Sandlin of Bloomfield, Winford Whitaker of Dudley; by six sisters, Ollie Gaultney of North Carolina, Melba Bryant, Mary Dugger, and Darlene Parks of Dudley, Faye Gee of Dexter and Rebecca Rhodes of Poplar Bluff; by a special sister in law who helped raise him, Verna Sandlin of Qulin, and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Fieldin Floyd “Sonny” Sandlin, Loyd Sandlin, Charles Floyd Sandlin, Fred Dillinger, Cecil Whitaker and Lorenzo Sandlin and by two sisters, Bonnie Birchfield and Lela Ester Sandlin.
Visitation will be conducted at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Brown Chapel Cemetery.

Michael Lee Rainey, age 74 of Jackson, TN formerly of Dexter, MO passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Jackson.
He was born on December 11, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, MO to the late Loyd Gene and Mary Keathley Rainey. He served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. He worked at the Dexter Memorial Hospital for over 20 years and was an active member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Dexter, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Rainey Hockman.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Reese Rainey of Jackson, TN, his son Mickey Rainey and wife Emily, his daughter Angie Rainey Roberts and husband David, his sisters Susie Garner and Alice Mosley as well as his nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons in Jackson, TN.

Kathryn Todt, daughter of the late John Emil Dumey and Bertha Bles Dumey was born on March 31, 1932 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at her home on the farm at the age of 87 years.
Kathryn was a former secretary for Division of Children’s Services, Scott County Farm Bureau, and Sikeston Region #9 Developmental Disabilities Council. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
On June 24, 1952 she was united in marriage to Carl Edward Todt Sr. in Oran who preceded her in death on March 25, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Beth Todt of Sikeston, Missouri and Susan Howard (Mark) of Jackson, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Angela Todt of Cabot, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Stephanie Howard and Tyler Howard; one step-granddaughter, Hannah Plaff; and one step-great-granddaughter, Amelia Plaff.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Carl Edward Jr., two daughters: Sharon and Darlene; by three brothers: Fred, James, and Marvin Dumey; by six sisters: Hermina Compass, Augusta Doghne, Arvella Steimle, Juanita Kern, Erma Grojean, and Mary Paylor.
Knights of Columbus Rosary and Prayer Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at the Guardian Angel Catholic School in Oran with visitation following until 12:00 noon.
Funeral Mass will then be conducted at Noon at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Heifer International, or Guardian Angel Catholic School.
