Leslie “Les” R. Fields, son of the late James “Jack” and Darlene Fields, was born June 16, 1940 and departed this life February 22, 2020 at the age of 79.
Les was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a brick mason for the majority of his adult life, retiring at the age of 62. He was a loving Husband, Brother, Father and Grandad. He was an avid fisherman who received as much joy from fishing as from watching his grandkids bringing in a catch.
All the children in his life knew him as Grandad. Dozens upon dozens of eggs, sausage and biscuits have been cooked over the years as no child was left hungry at his house. He was quick to smile, would listen quietly if needed and find humor in the simplest things.
On January 19, 1990 he began a life with Ruth Ann Northcutt-Fields whom survives their home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly Fields-Wilburn and her husband Patrick of Bloomfield, by one son, Scotty Northcutt and his wife Heather of Dexter; by his grandchildren, Tyler McBride and his wife Dana of DePere, Wisconsin, Seth McBride and his wife Jillian of Dexter, Scotty Andrew Fields and his wife Jasmine of Dexter, Jason Fields of Bloomfield, Gavin Northcutt and his wife Michelle, Jadyn and Courtney Northcutt of Dexter, and Dylan Wilburn of Poplar Bluff; and by his great-grandchildren, Lilly, Landon, Grayson, Payten, Wyatt, Leyton, Keegan, Hayden, Hailey, and Jordan.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Scott Brian Fields; three brothers, Jim, Don and Jerry; and one sister, Patsy.
