Waldner Eyes First State Championship Tonight in Columbia

Columbia, MO - Dexter senior Travis Waldner (50-0) pinned Zane Cotten of Seneca, Missouri in 3 minutes, 38 seconds to advance to the 170 lb State Championship in Columbia on Saturday.
The MSHSAA Class 2 Wrestling Championship is a dream of Waldner's and he is about to experience the best times of his wrestling career!
Waldner will face Hayden Burks, of Bolivar, in the championship bout. Burks pinned Gaven Gray-Walker, of Maryville, in 2:58 in the other semifinal.
Championship matches in all classes will start at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Wyatt Parker (15-10) reached the third round of wrestlebacks however Brecken Gates, of Cameron, pinned him in 2:23. He was just one win away from earning an all-state medal.
