Waldner Advances to MSHSAA State Wrestling Semifinals

Columbia, MO - Dexter senior Travis Waldner has a dream and he is one step closer to a state wrestling championship.  Waldner who has a perfect 49-0 record beat Blake Daher (47-3) of Buffalo by decision 4-3 in the MSHSAA State Wrestling quarterfinals in Columbia.

He will now face Zane Cotten of Seneca in a semifinal match on Friday evening.  Cotten (42-5) defeated Adrian Whitehead of Oak Grove by decision 5-3 in the quarterfinals.

Wyatt Parker (15-9) beat Zane Palmer of Odessa in the consolation bracket by decision 3-1 in the second round of wrestlebacks.  He too will wrestle on Friday evening against Brecken Gates of Cameron.  A win would guarantee him an all-state medal.

Mason Keena (33-8) and Eric Hamon (26-21) have ended their season in the second round of wrestlebacks.

Brayan Juarez of Mexico beat Harmon by fall in 2:17 and Charos Sutton of Winfield beat Keena by fall in 3:43.
