Dexter, Missouri - Several students at T.S. Hill Middle School brought home awards from the State BETA Convention and now qualify for nationals next June in Fort Worth, Texas.
They are: Bella Voss, Language Arts fifth place; Brooklyn Link, Language Arts fourth place; Ty Carmonde, Math first place; Corbin Williams, Science second place; Marie Fees, Science second place and the Quiz Bowl team consisting of Kate Churchill, Ben Dowdy, Ty Carmonde and Bella Voss, first place. Not available for the photo was Adeline Prance, Math first place.
Dexter, Missouri - The second grade classroom of Mrs. Lesley earned the Southwest Elementary Positive Behavior Support Reward Flag for November 2019.
School Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) award is presented at the start of each month at Southwest Elementary. One classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.
The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible. The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month. The students are also awarded "Cat in the Hat" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class. This year's theme is Dr. Seuss!
