In Memory of Charles Floyd Flanigan

Charles Floyd Flanigan, son of the late Rufus and Janice Flanigan, was born on January 1, 1945 in Lilbourn, Missouri and departed this life on December 10, 2019 at his residence in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 74.

Charlie was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany as a medic and bringing honor to his country and his family.  He was a well-respected employee and leader at Purolator for 38 years. Charlie was a great mentor, a professional and excellent negotiator and boss, but most of all, a faithful and loyal friend to many.  Above all, he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, a great example of selflessness, forbearance, and love. Charlie attended Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Jackson, Tennessee, and will be remembered for his example and his Christ-like character and will be so greatly missed by each and every person his life touched. 

On December 9, 1989 he was united in marriage to Brenda Parris Adams in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Flanigan survives of their residence in Jackson, Tennessee.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Tim and wife Pam Flanigan of Dexter; by three daughters, Tamra and husband Terry Swain of Millersville, Missouri, Dara and husband Roger Harwood of Jenks, Oklahoma, Jeana and husband Chris Delozier of Meadville, Mississippi; by four sisters, Nina Dobbs of St. Peters, Missouri, Sue Bundren of St. Louis, Missouri, Darlene Gardner of Dexter and Barbara Barnett of St. Louis, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Ethan Swain, Chantry Swain, Anna Harwood, Jack Harwood, Ella Delozier and Ezra Delozier, and by two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Kinsley.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bettie Rackley and Shelby Hale.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Roger Harwood and Rev. Donald Lance officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
