In Memory of Otis “Gene” Jackson

Otis “Gene” Jackson, son of the late Ernest Jackson and Dora Wolfe Jackson, was born on February 9, 1939 in Como, Mississippi and departed this life on December 8, 2019 at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Jackson was a former Electrical Engineer for the State of Missouri, Department of Corrections.

On November 20, 1997, in Potosi, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Alice Byrd Pemberton.  Mrs. Jackson survives of their home in Bloomfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenny Jackson and wife Amy of Westmoreland, Tennessee; by two daughters, Kathryn Carmack and husband David of Athens, Alabama, and Kimberley McGee and husband Earl of Pacific, Missouri; by his step-daughter, Debra Drennen and husband Lennus of Potosi, Missouri; by his step-son, Ronald Pemberton and wife Mary of Bayfield, Colorado; by his brother, Robert Jackson of Imperial, Missouri; and by ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Jackson, James Jackson, and Earnest Jackson; and by his sister, Earlene Jackson.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Stevens officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
