Bloomfield Schools to Celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield Schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 28th - November 1st.

There will be a school-wide parade at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st.  The parade route will begin at the high school gym, go up Seneca Street, turn right on Salem Street, turn right on Center Street, and continue back to school.  Parents and friends are invited to watch the fun!

Monday - BE KIND - Be all about high-fives and hugs, not drugs.  Wear Purple or Red!

Tuesday - BE BRAVE - Dare to be a hero and live drug free.  Wear superhero attire or positive sayings/quotes.

Wednesday - BE SMART - Be too smart to start!  Dress like a nerd or a teacher.

Thursday - BE BOLD - Be crazy about being drug free. Wear bold colors or your Halloween costume for the parade.

Friday - BE YOU - Be all you can be.  Wear camo or patriotic attire.

The board had its regular September board meeting last night.  

During the meeting, the board approved:

4.  Board Policy JHCD and Board Regulations EBBA-AP1 and JHCD-AP1

5.  To Bid Depository Services

6.  To Sale Old Bus

In executive session, the board approved:

1. Substitution List pending all background checks and proper paperwork - Rachel Huntsman and Demi Parker.

New Faces at Bloomfield Public Schools

Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield Schools began their 2019-2020 academic school year on Thursday.  There are a few new faces teaching this year.

Jori Loyd is a new alternative school aide.

Kaylin Goins is now teaching middle school math.

Che Jones is a special education teacher.

Lenzy Leimbach is the new music/choir teacher.

Brasley Conner is preschool ECSE aide.

Samantha Huckeby is a 3rd grade teacher.

Zane Huckeby is the new high school science teacher.

Bloomfield School Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for August 12, 2019

Bloomfield, Missouri  - The Bloomfield School Board of Directors met on Monday, August 12, 2019 for their annual tax rate hearing and monthly board meeting.

The board approved the tax rate of $3.10 for operating levy and $0.26 debt service for a total tax rate of $3.36.

The board also approved:

1. Special Education Compliance Plan

2. Conflict of Interest policy BBFA

3. Full maintenance service agreement with MSBA 

4. Several district policies and procedures.  Policies approved were BCC, DH, DI, EBBA, GBCB, GBCBB, GCL, JGGA, JHC, and KK.  Procedure EHBC-AP1 was approved.  

In executive session, the following were approved:

1.  Resignation of Kara Thompson

2.  Jori Loyd hired as alternative school aide.

3. Kaylin Goins hired as MS math teacher.

4. Substitute list 

5.  Brandon Crook as Fall/Spring Baseball assistant coach; Kaylin Goins as MS softball coach; Brasley Conner as MS assistant softball coach; Terri Matthews as MS and HS robotics club sponsor; Debbie Shafer as MS Student Council sponsor.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The first day of school at Bloomfield will be Thursday, August 15, 2019  

New student registration is August 8th from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.

All student registration is also Tuesday, August 8 from 1:00pm-7:00pm in the high school gym.

Students will get his/her classroom assignment/schedule and get school pictures made. You may also visit your student's classroom and put the school supplies in the desk/locker.
