2nd Grade Students Earn POR Awards at Southwest Elementary

Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honored 2nd Grade students with Positive Office Referral certificates.

This award was presented to students who consistently showed the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN.

Each student received a certificate and a FREE Taco from Taco Bell.

Dexter School Board Meeting Minutes - October 15, 2019

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter School Board met on October 15, 2019 at a regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m.  Below are the minutes from that meeting.

Regular Board Meeting Notes October 15, 2019

Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge  The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members present.  He then leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Consent Agenda:  The Consent Agenda was approved.

Public Comments:  There were no public comments made.    

Old Business:  

A.    The board approved MCE board policy updates.

New Business: 

A. The board approved the change from the Sikeston Career Center to the Poplar Bluff Career Center for the 2020-21 school year. This note will be paid off with proceeds from the 2020 bond

B. The board approved a financial transfer of $26,356.40 to zero out the food service account for the 2018-19 school year.

C. The board approved budget amendment for the 2019-20 school year.

Discussion Items:        

       A.  The nurse’s report was shared with the board.

       B.  The principals reports were shared with the board.

       C.  The superintendent gave his report to the board.

       D.  The next board meeting was set for November 19, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. 

In Closed Session:

1.  The board approved the following substitutes for the 2019-20 school year:

Christy Wilson

Hannah Bollinger - Secretary and Building Aide Only

2. The board approved the following district translator for the 2019-20 school year  

         Ahtziri Bittaye 

3.    The board approved resignation.

        Carolyn Fowler

        Maddison Cox

        Jonna Huffman from HS Stuco only effective Sept. 30, 2019

        C.A. Counts effective June 30, 2020

 4. The board approve special education aide transfer effective immediately.
