In Memory of Wilma Elizabeth Jarrell Quick

Wilma Elizabeth Jarrell Quick, daughter of the late James Andrew Jackson Jarrell and Clara Frances Kleffer Jarrell, was born on November 3, 1923 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on October 13, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 95 years.

Mrs. Quick was a former president and a member, for 62 years, of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #59 where she held every office.  For many years, she was a member and former secretary of the Sadler Chapel United Methodist Church; and she taught Sunday school for the teenage and women classes.  She loved making quilts, having a garden, and canning fruits and vegetables.

On February 10, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, she was united in marriage to Raymond Clyde Quick.  Mr. Quick preceded her in death on February 6, 1953.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Quick of Arnold, Missouri; by two daughters, Deloris Wamble of Dexter, Missouri and Linda Green of Albuquerque, New Mexico, by three sisters, Vera Staggs and Melba Jones, both of Dexter, Missouri, and Mildred Renick of Ventura, California; by five grandchildren, Erin Burlew of Springfield, Missouri, Ryan Wamble of Holcomb, Missouri, Denise Knight of Arnold, Missouri, James Green of Toronto, Canada, and Sarah Kastendieck of Albuquerque, New Mexico; by seven great-grandchildren, Leah Robey, Hallie Burlew, Gavin Burlew, Myca Sutton, Christopher Knight, Tyler Knight, and Mayzi Alvarez; and by eight nieces and nephews, Wilma Jean Staggs, Virginia Young, Dianna Blevins, Clara Woll, Debra Renick, Joyce White, Larry Guiling and Doug Guiling.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Jarrell; by three sisters, Glinda Lane, Opal Jarrell and Vivian Jarrell; by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Quick; by her son-in-law, Clifford Wamble and by her nephew, Harold Staggs.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jayne Markin officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
