MODOT Grant Enforcement Statistics for Dexter Police Department

In 2018, the Dexter Police Department was awarded two traffic safety enforcement grants targeting occupant protection safety and impaired driving enforcement from the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division.  Officers worked these grants during MODOT’s fiscal year, which ran from 10/01/2018 – 09/30/2019.  The following are the results of both grants enforcement statistics:

DWI Alcohol Arrests: 2

DWI Drug Arrests:         1

Hazardous Moving Violations: 47

Seatbelt Violations:         141

Child Restrain Violations: 4

Suspended/Revoked Violations: 10

No Operators License:         3

Uninsured Motorist Violations: 36

Felony Arrests:              6

Drug Arrests:          5

Stolen Vehicles Recovered: 1

Fugitives Apprehended:         14

Non-Hazardous Moving Violations: 254

Verbal/Written Warnings for 

Various Traffic Offenses:         661

Traffic Stops Conducted:         674

Hours Worked on Grants: 493

The Dexter Police Department would like to thank MODOT for providing the funding to help provide a safer driving environment for the citizens of Dexter due to these enforcement efforts.  Without the grant funding, these enforcement efforts wouldn’t be possible.

Dexter Eagles Club Proudly Presents Miss Soaring Eagle Pageant

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Eagles Club proudly presents a National Beauty Pageant, Miss Soaring Eagle on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Eagles BINGO Hall.

Entry fee if paid before October 20th is $25; $30 at the door on day of pageant.  Overall categories is $20 extra with 5 awards to be awarded per division (best smile, best eyes, best hair, best personality, most photogenic.

A crown, sash, and trophy will be awarded to each queen per age division.  A trophy will be awarded to first and second alternates in each age division.  Overall category winners will receive a trophy.

Division A:  Baby Miss (0-12 months); Wee Miss (1-3 years); Tiny Miss (4-6 years)

Division B: Little Miss (7-10 years); Young Miss (11-12 years); Junior MIss (13-15 years) and Miss (16-19 years)

Doors open at 9 a.m.; dressing rooms available; formal or pageant attire only; 

First pageant will begin at 11 a.m. and will run continuously with a short break between age divisions.

Admission is free so bring all your family and friends to cheer on these beautiful young ladies. 

Concession stand will be open during the event.  No outside food or drink will be brought in.

Crowning will occur after the end of each division.

12 Earthquakes Reported in the Last 7 Days

Lilbourn, Missouri - Officials with the United States Geological Survey reported several earthquakes in southeast Missouri on Monday, September 30.

All six recorded earthquakes include:

11:18 a.m. - 2.6 magnitude earthquake southwest of Lilbourn, Mo.

11:21 a.m. - 1.1 magnitude earthquake south, southwest of Lilbourn, Mo.

11:29 a.m. - 2.7 magnitude earthquake southwest of Lilbourn, Mo.

11:34 a.m. - 1.8 magnitude earthquake south, southwest of Lilbourn, Mo.

11:57 a.m. - 2.7 magnitude earthquake west of Lilbourn, Mo.

3:31 p.m. - 2.5 magnitude earthquake southwest of Lilbourn, Mo.

According to the USGS, there have been 12 earthquakes in the past seven days in southeast Missouri.
