Betty Sue Whitehead, daughter of the late Mack Clark Sherrod and Maude Redden Sherrod was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on July 30, 1946 and departed this life in St. Francis Medical Center on July 30, 2019 at the age of 73.

Mrs. Whitehead worked at Locust Street Flowers in Dexter, Missouri as a Florist.  She was a member of Bernie General Baptist Church and lived in Bernie.

She was married to Bobby Lee Whitehead in Piggott, Arkansas on November 7, 1997.  Mr. Whitehead survives in their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include one son, Arnold Clark Matthews of Atoka, Tennessee; by one daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Hale of Malden, Missouri; by one brother James Sherrod of Senath, Missouri; by one sister Mary Anna White of Cedar Hill, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Layton, Ezra and Aiden; also other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.   

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. August 1, 2019 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. 

Interment will follow in Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
