2019 Keller Library Friend of the Year Awarded to Erin Brown.

Dexter, Missouri - Named the 2019 Keller Library "Friend of the Year" at Saturday night's Annual Dinner was long-time patron Erin Brown. Brown was credited for her continual contribution of the library fashion show and always supporting local community, especially the downtown area.

Presenting the annual award to Brown is Keller Public Library Director Pam Trammell.

Trammell introduced the 2019 Friend of the Year....this is what she had to say, "When the friends of the library consider their friend of the year each spring, they look for certain qualities.  They look for the unique.  The genuine artifact.  The one of a kind.  The finely crafted.  The beauty of a big heart and a generous spirit.  The story behind the person.  This year’s friend possesses all of these attributes, and can surely teach each and every one of us how to be a friend.  In our community she has worked with a passion to bring beauty and vitality to Dexter’s downtown through her lovely gift gallery which is a destination for those near and far.  They come to her shop for the treasures they find to take home or present to others, and they come to her shop for the treasure they find in her friendship.  They not only leave with beautifully wrapped merchandise, they leave with their heart and their soul gift-wrapped in her care, for she is always a concerned and patient listener, warm advisor, and positive encourager.  And that is just what she has been for the library.  Since the early days of the Friends of the Library fashion show, she has given the gift of herself to the cause of supporting the library.  Generously helping however she could.  She graciously used her many resources to bring the latest fashions, wonderful gifts, door prizes, and attendees to the event.  Never saying no.  Always a yes.  Always easy to work with.  Always bringing her one of a kind ideas with a flair for the beautiful.  Always working to make our community and our library a better place.  She does so much for so many, in ways we can see, and we’re certain in ways that we will never know, for it is not the praise she seeks.  But tonight we want to reflect a little bit of that goodness back to her.  She likes objects which she says “speak to her”.

She was presented a plaque as well as a bouquet courtesy of Locust Street Flowers.

Pictured with Erin is the president of the Friends of the Library board, Adrienne White.
