
Stoddard County, Missouri - The Bernie Lady Mules earned the #1 seed in the Stoddard County Athletic Association softball tournament that begins Monday, April 15, 2019 at various locations in the county.
The Mules (14-2, 5-0 SCAA) received a first round bye and will host the semifinal round.
Bloomfield Lady Wildcats earned the #2 seed followed by #3 Puxico, #4 Woodland, #5 Advance, and #6 Dexter.
Bloomfield also received a first round bye and will host a semifinal game.
In the first round, #3 Puxico (6-6, 0-2) will host #6 Dexter (1-8, 0-3) and #4 Woodland (6-5, 1-3) will host #5 Advance (4-7,1-1). Both games will be played at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 15th.
The Puxico/Dexter winner will face Bloomfield and the Woodland/Advance winner will meet Bernie in the semifinals. Both games will start at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16th at the higher seed location.
The championship and third-place games are set for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17th at the site of the higher seed.

Sikeston, Missouri - The Dexter Bearcats baseball team traveled to Sikeston on Monday, April 8, 2019. The Bulldogs came out strong defeated Dexter 12-2.
Dexter came out on top early scoring two runs, but Sikeston followed with 12 runs to beat them.
Garrett Henson and Peyton driskill hit consecutive singles giving the Bearcats the 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
The Bearcats are now 1-9 on the season and 0-4 SEMO Conference.
Sikeston (5-3, 3-1 SEMO) scored four in the first, two in the second, three in the fourth, and three in the sixth to end the game on a 10-run mercy rule.
Tyler Gilmer earned the win allowing two runs on five hits striking out three and one walk in four innings.
Ethan Kincy took the loss for Dexter. He allowed two hits and four runs over 2/3 of an inning striking out two.
Kincy also led Dexter with two hits in three at-bats.

New Madrid, Missouri - The Lady Cats softball team traveled to New Madrid on Monday, April 8, 2019. The Green Wave shut-out Dexter in five inning 10-0.
Lily Johnson had all the right stuff on Monday evening allowing zero runs, two hits striking out ten and walking one in five innings at the mound.
The Green Wave opened up scoring in the first inning when an error scored two runs. The notched five runs in the second inning.
Dexter's Kelby Hill hit a single in the first inning for Dexter.
Sydney Asberry took the loss for the Lady Bearcats. She went four and 2/3 innings allowing ten runs on 11 hits and striking out five.
Hannah Pyles also had a hit.
Dexter fell to 1-9 on the season, NMCC improved to 6-7.

Malden, Missouri - The Malden Invitational Baseball Tournament will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 and Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Nine teams including Malden, Scott City, Neelyville, Portageville, Doniphan, Senath-Hornersville, New Madrid County Central, Bernie, and Caruthersville will compete. Admission to the tournament is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Grilled burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and walking tacos will be served at the tournament.
Malden, Scott City, and Neelyville will compete in Pool A on Friday.
Portageville, Doniphan, and Senath-Hornersville will compete in Pool B on Friday.
New Madrid County Central, Bernie, and Caruthersville will compete in Pool C on Friday.
The team finishing first in each pool will compete in the Gold Pool on Saturday. The team finishing second in each pool will compete in the Silver Pool on Saturday. The team finishing third in each pool will compete in the Bronze Pool on Saturday.
There will be a two-hour time limit for every pool with the exception of the Gold Pool on on Saturday. There will be a 15-run rule after three innings, 12-run rule after four innings, and 10-run rule after five innings.
If there is a tiebreaker between teams in a pool the first tiebreaker is head-to-head results and the second tiebreaker is least runs allowed.

Scott City, Missouri - The Bernie Mules softball team defeated top-ranked Scott City Rams on Monday, April 8, 2019 10-9. The Rams were previously undefeated prior to the Mules coming to town.
Alyson Marcum got things moving in the first inning, when she homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
The Lady Mules scored two runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning to jump out to an 8-0 lead over the Rams. Scott City came back and scored three in the third and two in the forth to cut the lead to 8-5, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
Cassidy Freed was credited with the win, allowing nine runs, on eight hits with six strikeouts and seven walks in 6 2/3 innings.
Haley Schrum was charged with the loss, giving up 10 runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and five walks in seven innings.
Bernie improved to 15-2 on the season.
Marcum went 1 for 1 with a home run, two RBIs and four walks. Anna Eaton went 2 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Daisy Eaton went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. Anthony went 2 for 5 with one RBI. Logan Mayberry doubled in four at-bats, and Freed had two RBIs.
