Poplar Bluff, Missouri - The Mules Booster Club has named Paige Earls and Kendric Gordon of Poplar Bluff High School the January Athletes of the Month, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Kendric, a senior wrestler, has a 30-10 record with 18 pins this season. He was named the Parkway South and SEMO Conference champion, was runner-up in the Tiger Classic, and went undefeated at the Marshfield Duals.

“Kendric has had a tremendous work ethic this year and is working toward districts,” his coach Kelton Thompson said.

Paige, a sophomore wrestler, has a 6-3 record, and placed third in districts. She is the first state qualifier in Lady Mules history, according to the coaching staff.

“Paige has been working hard since her seventh grade year and has qualified for the first ever girls state championship series,” noted Thompson, who is also the girls wrestling coach.
