In Memory of Cotus James

Cotus James, son of the late Ed James and Eva Permenta James was born on April 9, 1928 in Hornbeak, Tennessee and departed this life on November 23, 2018 surrounded by his family at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Mr. James was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Bell City General Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #382 in Bloomfield. He was retired from the U.A.W.
On September 5, 1949 he was united in marriage to Roberta Higgins in Crowder, Missouri. Mrs. James survives in their home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, Roberta, he is survived by one son, Willis James and wife Betsy of West Branch, Michigan; two daughters, Vivian Raby of Dexter and Vanessa Montrosse and husband Carl of Roscommon, Michigan; one sister, Christine Burch of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Treeca Curd; one sister, Maxine Berry; two brothers, Jack James and Bobby James; and one grandson, Carl Raby.
Friends may call the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from Noon until 2:00 P.M. Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:00 P.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Bob Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Full Military Honors.
