Advisory class is part of our school day and rules/policies are the same as with any other period during the school day; (i.e.- cell phone, attendance, tardies, and signing in/out) Not reporting to advisory without signing out in the office will result in an ASD.

Students must have a minimum of 90% attendance and be passing all courses for the current grading term (Quarter) in order to miss class for an extracurricular activity.  Students may check grades online through the student portal on SIS. If the student's grades or attendance changes to meet the requirements they may request a review in the office. Changes to the ineligible list will not be made the day prior to or the day of the event.

According to the policy found in the Family/Student Handbook regarding use of cell phones

Cell phones may only be in use during lunch periods in the cafeteria and lobby areas

Phones may not be in use in any academic area - Faculty/staff should NOT see students in hallways with phones - phones should not be on desks or visible during any class

Students may have in possession during instructional day but they must be turned OFF

Students should not JAM lockers due to security issues for student and school.  Students who JAM their lockers so they do not require a combination may be assigned ASD.

The FBLA Macaroni & Cheese contest for students starts today.  We have some early entries and Mrs Guys advisory class is leading with 30 boxes; Mrs Christian and Sepulvado are tied for 2nd with 24.  Give donations to your advisory teacher.  FBLA members need to check email to sign up and help with this project after school.

FCCLA is conducting a silent auction in the DHS library.  The auction will run from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15.  It will end after third period on the 15th.  Bidding increments must increase a minimum of $.25 each bid.  100% of the proceeds will be donated. We will notify the winning bids that Friday and expect payment before Thanksgiving break.
