Kindergarten Students Earn Positive Office Referrals
Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honors Kindergarten students with Positive Office Referral certificates.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN.

Each student received a certificate and a FREE Taco from Taco Bell.

Bernie Elementary Students Earn Positive Office Referrals
Bernie, MO - Bernie Elementary Positive Office Referrals were awarded this week.

Students who earn such an honor also received a Subway Sandwich Gift Card and a POR Certificate.

These students were referred for displaying positive behavior!

Congratulations to the following for placing in their testing events at the FBLA Six Flags Leadership Conference. Kolby Musgrave 2nd in Communications and the team of Layne Medler, Makenna Rodgers and Tara Williams 2nd in Decision Making.

Congrats to girls tennis players Abby Dorton and Hannah Bollinger for 3rd place in doubles districts and to Malia Cook for 4th place in singles.

FBLA t-shirt orders and money are due Wednesday, October 10th by 4 pm.

JV Football vs. Kennett today at home.  Game time is 6:00 pm

The Cross Country team should be dismissed at 2:30 pm today.  Their bus leaves at 2:45 for the Bloomfield meet.

The Stoddard County Volleyball Tournament begins today in Advance.  The Varsity Bearcats play in pool play on Monday night and the JV Bearcats have pool play on Tuesday.  The volleyball team needs to be dismissed today at 2:30 pm for their 2:45 pm bus.

There is a boys basketball open gym today in the BEC from 3:15 pm - 5:00 pm.

All District Choir members should report to the East Lobby for their group picture TUESDAY during advisory.

FBLA Officers meeting in Mrs. Guys’ room TUESDAY during advisory.

Student Council meeting for all members on Thursday, October 11th, in Ms. Wiggins' room.  Meetings will be held before school at 7:45 OR immediately after school.  Plan to attend one! We will be talking about trunk or treat and convention.

Three Rivers College  is at DHS today during advisory for spring enrollment.

Beginning on Tuesday through the end of the week seniors will have their individual pictures made during advisory.  The schedule is based on the first letter of the student’s last name.
Tuesday:  A-G Wednesday: H-P Thursday: Q-Z Friday:  Makeup pictures

Prom Committee will meet in Ms. Colley’s room on Thursday during advisory.

Membership drive for the SkillsUSA/Industrial Arts Club will begin Monday, September 24th and end October 26th. The club dues are $15. Checks can be made out to Dexter Industrial Arts Club. Also, the Club Fundraiser will begin Oct. 17 thru Oct. 31st.

FCA Breakfast will be this Friday, October 12 at the United Methodist Church beginning 7:15 am.

FCA will host a movie night on the football field on Wednesday, October 17, at 8:00 P.M. We will be watching "I Can Only Imagine".  The price of admission is at least 1 hygiene item...soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, detergent, etc...  These items will go in the Blessing Booth for students at DHS to use.

Mrs. Keena's Class Earns 3Rs Flag for 2nd Grade
Dexter, Missouri - The Second Grade classroom of Mrs. Keena earned the Southwest Elementary Positive Behavioral Support Reward Flag for August 2018.

School Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) award is presented at the start of each month at Southwest Elementary.  One classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.

The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible.  The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month.  The students are also awarded "Cat in the Hat" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class.  This year's theme is Dr. Seuss!
