The Bernie Board of Education met in regular session on Monday the 10th of September. 

Program evaluations on Professional Development, and Curriculum and Instruction were reviewed and approved. 

The Board also approved the Extra-Curricular Handbook for the 2018/19 school year.

The Board approved adding Stephanie Geohagan to the Substitute Employee List.   

The financial statement was approved and bills were authorized for payment.

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie School Board met at a regular scheduled meeting on Monday, August 13, 2018.  New hires, one resignation, and a Tax Rate Hearing were all on the agenda for the board to approve.  Below are the meeting minutes

The Board of Education held their annual Tax Rate Hearing before the start of the regular school board meeting on Monday the 13th day of August.  The tax rate in the General fund was set at 2.9753.  The tax rate in the Debt Service Fund was held at $.30.

The Board accepted winning bids for the John Deere Tractor at $1,475.00 and the trailer, $450.00.

The Board approved Program Evaluations on School Climate and Summer School.  

The Board accepted the 2017/18 Annual Secretary of Board Report.

The Board approved the financial statement and bills were authorized for payment.

During Executive session, Superintendent Goals were reviewed.

The Board accepted the resignation from Kellie Owens, Elementary Counselor. 

The Board approved hiring Keshia Southern as the Elementary Counselor, the board also approved Kellie Anthony as the JH Cheer Coach and Cendyl McGowan as the High School Assistant Volleyball Coach.

The Bernie School Board of Education held its regular June meeting on June 11th.  

A light agenda included acceptance of a Financial Institution Bid from Sterling Bank of Bernie for the next school year and approval of program evaluations on Federal Programs and Fiscal Management.

While addressing finances the Board approved transfer of funds from the General Fund to the Capital Projects fund as allowed for transportation and the Guaranteed Tax Base transfer, approved the final 2017/2018 Budget Amendment and adopted the 2018/2019 Bernie School Budget.   

The financial statement and payment of bills was approved.

During the Executive Session, the Board accepted Haley Baker’s resignation as the 4th Grade Teacher, hired Kelsie Friese as the Kindergarten Teacher, hired Sara Nash as an Elementary Para Professional and hired Tate Midkiff as the 4th Grade Teacher.

Bernie School Board Notes: April Board Meeting

The Board of Education met in regular session on Monday the 9th of April.  Board members Judy Zoll and Gary Eaton were sworn into office.  Judy Zoll was elected president.  Denny Riddle was elected vice-president.  Dena Mouton was named secretary/treasurer.  Rhonda Shipman was named alternate secretary/treasurer.  Dena Mouton was named custodian of records.  The regular meeting time for the Board of Education was set for the second Monday of every month with the meetings to be held in the Central Office Board Room at 7 p.m.

The Board approved the Vocational Program Evaluation.

During executive session the recipient of the Rutland Scholarship was selected.    

The Board accepted the letter of intent to retire from Reba Vincent as the High School Secretary.

The Board approved hiring Amanda Robinson as the Elementary 3rd Grade Teacher and Ashleigh Hicks as the High School Secretary.

The Board approved combining Lindsey Norman as the Curriculum/Testing Director/Core Data/Tech Support Director and Beth Slavings as the Process Coordinator/Homeless Coordinator for the 2018/19 school year.
