Puxico High School Registration, Pictures & Parking

Puxico, Missouri - Puxico High school seniors may register Wednesday, August 15 in the morning between 8:30 and 10:00.
The junior class is scheduled Wednesday morning, August 15, from 10:00 to 11:30.
Sophomores should arrive on Wednesday afternoon, August 15, between 1:00 and 2:30.
New high school students may enroll Wednesday, August 8 and Thursday, August 9 in the morning from 9-11 and 1-3 in the afternoon.
High school students will receive their schedules at the time of registration and receive new information for the 2018-2019 school year. Parents filling out and turning in all paper work that day will be eligible to win door prizes. Students registering at the designated scheduled time will also be allowed to select their locker and parking spot. Students arriving at an earlier time than specified will have to wait to select lockers and parking on the first day of school. Students seeking school parking will need to bring $5, license plate number, proof of insurance, driver’s license, and a parent or guardian to sign permission forms. Parking permits will be approved only for students providing all necessary items.
Fall pictures will be taken during high school registration times. Senior composite pictures will be taken during senior registration times. Dress clothes are encouraged for females and males need to wear a collared shirt. T-shirts and shirts with worded print are not allowed for composite pictures. Students wanting to be photographed for the yearbook should follow the dress code. Students not following the dress code can have their pictures taken on re-take day during the school year. Students will be able to order school pictures during registration times. Picture prices and packages will be available on the school website www.puxico.k12.mo.us New students will be photographed on re-take day during the school year on October 9.

Bernie School Board Meeting Minutes - Monday, August 13, 2018

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie School Board met at a regular scheduled meeting on Monday, August 13, 2018. New hires, one resignation, and a Tax Rate Hearing were all on the agenda for the board to approve. Below are the meeting minutes
Bernie School Board Notes: August 13, 2018
The Board of Education held their annual Tax Rate Hearing before the start of the regular school board meeting on Monday the 13th day of August. The tax rate in the General fund was set at 2.9753. The tax rate in the Debt Service Fund was held at $.30.
The Board accepted winning bids for the John Deere Tractor at $1,475.00 and the trailer, $450.00.
The Board approved Program Evaluations on School Climate and Summer School.
The Board accepted the 2017/18 Annual Secretary of Board Report.
The Board approved the financial statement and bills were authorized for payment.
During Executive session, Superintendent Goals were reviewed.
The Board accepted the resignation from Kellie Owens, Elementary Counselor.
The Board approved hiring Keshia Southern as the Elementary Counselor, the board also approved Kellie Anthony as the JH Cheer Coach and Cendyl McGowan as the High School Assistant Volleyball Coach.
The next meeting of the Board will be September 9, 2018.

Dexter Kiwanis Club Donates to Southwest Elementary

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Kiwanis Club presented a check for $250 to Southwest Elementary to purchase much needed school supplies for students.
Accepting the check is Jacinda DeWitt, Southwest Elementary Principal and Hattie Galloway, kindergarten student.
