Three Rivers Student Receives Brenda Murphy Gettings Memorial Scholarship
July 27th 2018 by Dee Loflin
Amanda Cordell, a Nursing student at Three Rivers College, has been awarded the Brenda Murphy Gettings Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship was created in memory of Brenda Murphy Gettings, a graduate of Three Rivers College’s Nursing program. Her family members award a $500 scholarship to a second-year Three Rivers nursing student who lives in the four-county taxing district, based on need and essays submitted by applicants.
The scholarship is funded by an annual 5K Run/Walk, held by Gettings’ family, that also funds other scholarships.
Cordell lives in Neelyville and anticipates graduating in December 2018.
Anyone interested in awarding a scholarship, one-time or endowed, to Three Rivers College students may call the Development Office at 840-9077.
Three Rivers College is committed to contributing to the quality of life in Southeast Missouri with quality, affordable higher education opportunities and community services that support and encourage the economic, civic, and cultural vitality of the region.
