In Memory of Louise Ellis
Louise Ellis of Edwardsville, Illinois, formally of Bernie, the daughter of the late  and  Bennett, was born on December 4, 1927, and passed away at the Rosewood Care Center on June 19, 2018,
at the age of 90 years, 6  months and 15 days.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev.  officiating.

Burial will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Gregory Wayne Sells
Gregory Wayne Sells, son of Doyle Ray Sells and JoAnn Gateley Sells both of Mobile, Alabama was born on September 14, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on June 17, 2018 in Mobile, Alabama at the age of forty-six.

Mr. Sells was a 1990 graduate of Dexter High School and a 2011 graduate of the Culinary Institute of Virginia College.  Mr. Sells was a manager at McDonalds and was a former resident of Dexter currently living in Mobile, Alabama.  Mr. Sells was a lover of music and a self-taught guitarist.  His biggest joy in life where his two children Jude and Lucy.

Besides his parents he is survived by one son, Jude Sells of Hawaii and by one daughter, Lucy Sells of Hawaii; by one brother, Tim Sells of Mobile, Alabama and by one sister, Lori Polyak of Flower Mound, Texas.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin McAnulty officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In Memory of Bernice Johnson

Bernice Johnson, daughter of the late Jessie B. James and Mittie Elizabeth Williams James was born on September 16, 1933 in Hilmon, Arkansas and departed this life on June 14, 2018 at the North Delta Hospice in Southaven, Mississippi at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Johnson was a supervisor in house cleaning in area nursing homes.

On January 3, 1978, in California, she was united in marriage to Beauford J. Johnson.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 1995.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by three daughters, Sharon and her husband Kenny Bartlett of Walls, Mississippi, Elizabeth and her husband John Hardaway of Hockley, Texas and Melody Jane Hall of Highlands, Texas; by one brother, Michael James of Hornersville, Missouri; by four sisters, Edna Geneva Perry of Michigan, Diane Whitney of St. Louis, Missouri, Sandra Sue Reynolds of St. Louis, Missouri and Alice Marie Reynolds of St. Louis, Missouri; by two grandsons, one granddaughter, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Carl Ray Sebree and by one brother Ralph James.

Visitation was at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie. 

Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.

In Memory of Alfred Coleman
Alfred Coleman, son of the late Robert Clint and Georgia W. Russell Coleman, was born in Dexter on January 15, 1926, and passed away at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau on June 13, 2018, at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 29 days.

Alfred had lived in Dexter all of his life, worked as a carpenter and built many homes in the area.

On June 21, 1944, he married Dorothy McCormick in Piggott, Arkansas.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Coleman of Dexter; two daughters, Connie Smith and Janet Conner both of Dexter; two sons and wife, J. W. Coleman and Keith (Vanita) Coleman all of Dexter, four grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Hillary Mercier, Katie Coleman and Gage Coleman all of Dexter; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Logan; one sister, Callie Tuthill of North Stonington, Connecticutt. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers, J. B. , Joe, Elvis and Thelbert Coleman, one sister, Pauline Kamplain.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.

Interment will be at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Lonnie Lee Mallory
Lonnie Lee Mallory of Canton, Mississippi, son of the late Melvin and Irene Runyon Mallory, was born in Dudley, Missouri on August 31, 1947, passed away in Canton, Mississippi on June 11, 2018, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 11 days.

Lonnie was raised in Dudley and spent twenty-one years in the U. S. Air Force, and was a resident of Canton, Mississippi. He had served in the U. S. Air Force as an Electronic Warfare Technician. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being outdoors working in the yard and drinking coffee.

On June 4, 1967, he married Alta L. Thrasher.

Surviving are his wife, Alta Mallory of Canton, Mississippi; one daughter, Renee (Tommy) Stallings of Canton, Mississippi; one son, Brian (Jennifer) Mallory of Greensboro, North Carolina; six grandchildren; four brothers, Mac Mallory, Donald (Nellie) Mallory all of Dexter, James (Melissa) Mallory of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Kenneth (Leyda) Mallory of Mary Esther, Florida; two sisters, June (Jimmy) Teets of Dexter and Ruth (Ken) Tippen of Bloomfield. Numerous relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Daniel, Duane, Charles, Gerald and Dennis Mallory and one sister, Irma Crank.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
