In Memory of Charles Vails

Charles Leroy Vails, son of the late W. E. Vails and Virgie Mounce Vails was born on April 14, 1936 in Risco, Missouri and departed this life on June 5, 2018 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 82 years.
Mr. Vails was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of Hussmann Refrigeration in St. Louis, Missouri where he was a production inspector and a member of the Risen Church of Dexter, Missouri.
On May 16, 1959, in Rockford, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Betty Johnston.
Mr. Vails is survived by his wife, Betty; by one son, Michael (Sarah) Vails of Grovetown, Georgia; by two daughters, Darla (Donald) Merideth of St. Peters, Missouri and Genice (Robert) Harp of Warrenton, Missouri; by three brothers, Roy Vails of Dexter, Missouri, George Vails of Puxico, Missouri and Franklin Vails of Campbell, Missouri; by three sisters, Lola Thomas of Stuart Draft, Virginia, Nadine Donalson of Rockford, Illinois and Jerline Gregory of Dexter, Missouri; by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Vails; by four sisters, Eula Owens, Armada Valentine, Joyce Arnold and Maxine Lester.
Visitation will be at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00pm in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Roth officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00am at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
