Bernie School Board Notes: April Board Meeting
The Board of Education met in regular session on Monday the 9th of April. Board members Judy Zoll and Gary Eaton were sworn into office. Judy Zoll was elected president. Denny Riddle was elected vice-president. Dena Mouton was named secretary/treasurer. Rhonda Shipman was named alternate secretary/treasurer. Dena Mouton was named custodian of records. The regular meeting time for the Board of Education was set for the second Monday of every month with the meetings to be held in the Central Office Board Room at 7 p.m.
Student trips were approved as follows:
Elementary Honor Roll to City Museum-May 9
DARE Trip to St Louis Cardinals Game – May 22 (Ellenburg)
Senior Trip to St. Louis-4/11
Math Field Day @ SEMO-April 18 (McKinnis)
Project Prom to Jonesboro, AR-4/21
State History Day to Columbia-4/27-28
Jr. Class Magazine Sale to St. Louis Cardinals Game-May 4
Band to Humboldt, TN - May 6
Summer school was set to be held from May 17 through June 8, 2018.
The Board approved the Vocational Program Evaluation.
Bills were reviewed and approved.
During executive session the recipient of the Rutland Scholarship was selected.
The Board accepted the letter of intent to retire from Reba Vincent as the High School Secretary.
The Board approved hiring Amanda Robinson as the Elementary 3rd Grade Teacher and Ashleigh Hicks as the High School Secretary.
The Board approved combining Lindsey Norman as the Curriculum/Testing Director/Core Data/Tech Support Director and Beth Slavings as the Process Coordinator/Homeless Coordinator for the 2018/19 school year.
The Board approved Extra Duty Assignments as follows:
