Dexter Wins the 2018 Bernie 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament

Bernie, Missouri - The Dexter Lady Cats faced the Bloomfield Lady Wildcats in the championship game at the 2018 Bernie 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday evening.  Due to a power outage on Tuesday night semifinal games and the championship game had to be postponed until the following night.

Dexter came away with the final win earning another championship.  This was Kacey Christian's first Bernie Tournament win as the middle school head volleyball coach.

"I am very proud of these girls," commented Christian. "They are fun to watch and work hard every day."

Dexter defeated Bloomfield in two sets, 25-12, 25-15

Bernie Lady Mules Win Puxico Softball Invitational
Puxico, Missouri - The Bernie Lady Mules won the Puxico Softball Invitation.  They earned a bye in the first round, beat the Woodland Lady Cardinals 5 - 2 and the Doniphan Lady Dons 11-3 in the championship.

"We've had a great start to the season.  The girls are working hard and their continued focus and work is starting to pay dividends.  We beat a very good Doniphan team in the finals of the Puxico tournament.  We just want to keep working and looking for ways to improve."

DHS Winter Sports Senior Night Featuring Morgan Aldridge

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School Winter Sports Senior Night featuring Morgan Aldridge.

Morgan is the daughter of Jimmy and April Aldridge.

She has participated in volleyball one year, varsity girls tennis three years, and varsity basketball cheer all four years of high school.

She is also a member of Student Council, Sr. Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Teachers of America, and was Miss DHS.

Her future plans are to attend Missouri State University and major in Psychology.

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School Winter Sports Senior Night featuring Meg Simmons.

Meg is the daughter of Jonathan and Lara Simmons.

She has participated in football cheer one year, Kickin' Cats four years, and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta Club, Future Teachers of America, Rotary Interact, DHS Musicals, and the National Honor Society.

Meg has earned All District Choir four years, All State Choir Alternate her junior year, All State Choir Member her senior year, Top 10%, MCDA Honors Choir, and Academic All State Cheerleading in 2017 - 2018.

Her future plans are to attend Harding University and major in Vocal Music Education.
