In Memory of Vivian Maddox
Vivian Maddox, daughter of the late Clarence Grant and Lucille Brewer Grant, was born on March 2, 1929 in Flint, Michigan and departed this life on January 15, 2018 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 88.

Mrs. Maddox had worked at Elder’s Manufacturing in Dexter and was a resident of Essex, Missouri. 

On February 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Chad “Wigg” Maddox in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Maddox preceded her in death on August 31, 2017.

She is survived by one son, Bob Maddox of Essex; by two daughters, Sandy Edwards(Roger)of Dexter and Glenda Smith of Dexter; by one sister, Shirley Lenderman of Sikeston; by four grandchildren, Chad Maddox, Lamia Hobbs(Patrick), Spencer Hare(Molly), Preston Edwards(Candace); by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Bobby Carl Maddox, Robert James Maddox and Kevin Lynn Maddox and by two sisters, Cozette DeJournett and Betty Stracener.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Malloy officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to 18 Fore Life, C/O Scott Kruse, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Missouri 63841.

In Memory of Virginia Sherfield
Virginia L. Sherfield of Dexter, daughter of the late Newton Raymond and Anna Eathel Dublin Hunsaker, was born in Caruth, Missouri on February 17,1925, and passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on January 15, 2018, at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Mrs. Sherfield had lived in Dexter all her life. She was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter and for over twenty years she was a member of the Airstream Club and traveled extensively.

On December 12, 1947, she married Russell C. Sherfield in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2013.

Surviving are one son, Wayne Sherfield of Lake Ozark, Missouri; one daughter, Mary Sue Barker of Columbia; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren, two brothers, Gene Hunsaker of Dexter, Jerry Hunsaker of Walnut Grove, Missouri; and one sister, Glenda Fowler of Wixon, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Ann Baker; one grandson, Michael Barker; seven brothers, Alvin, John David, James, Burl, Ralph, George Newton and Billy Hunsaker; and two sisters, Linda Christian and Pansy Gianacakos.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 19, 2018, after 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Jeff Roth of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Risen Church, 15 E St. Francis Sr., Dexter MO 63841.

In Memory of Lemeno Baker Pearsall
Lemeno Baker Pearsall, daughter of the late William Wright and Spicey Bowman Wright was born on April 21, 1921 in Manila, Arkansas and departed this life on January 14, 2018 in the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center at Dexter, Missouri at the age of 96 years.

Mrs. Pearsall was a former employee of the V.F.W. Post #1008 in Waterford, Michigan and a home-maker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was united in marriage to James William Baker in 1938 in Manila, Arkansas.  Mr. Baker preceded her in death on October 5, 1993.

Survivors include; two sons, Jimmie Lynn Baker (Peggy) of Dudley, and Ronnie Baker (Rose) of Dexter:  by two daughters, Gwenda Joyce Souden of Waterford, Michigan and Mary Gail Ulmer (Tony Evangelista) of Boca Raton, Florida; by one brother, Leo Wright of Stuttgart, Arkansas: by eight grandchildren, Jeri Pierce, Cindy Grubbs, Keith Baker, David Paul Baker, Ashlee Danelius, Teresa Talarico, Merideth Stocker and Jamie Lemeno Evangelista: by ten great-grandchildren, including Garrett, Isabelle Gwendagail, AJ, Amanda Lemeno, Tyler, Colton and Joey; by thirteen great-great grandchildren. 

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Wright, J.C. Wright, Edgar Wright and Gilbert Wright; by two sisters, Mary Camp and Juanita Hornbuckle.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. 

Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Phil Warren and Dr. Rick Wirz officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Christina Hadley
Christina Hadley, daughter of the late Bennett Ballard and Hattie Cabler Ballard was born December 22, 1926 in Licking, Missouri and departed this life on January 16, 2018 in the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 91 years.

Mrs. Hadley was a former secretary for Baptist Associations, both in Tennessee and Missouri. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Ira L. Hadley Jr. on May 25, 1945.  Mr. Hadley preceded her in death on November 7, 1990.

Survivors include; one son, David Hadley(Yolanda) of Raleigh, North Carolina:  by two daughters, Marilyn Murphy(Patrick) of Franklin, Pennsylvania and Debby Triplett(Steve) of Jena, Louisiana:  by one brother, Leon Ballard of St. Louis, Missouri:  by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lyndon L. Hadley; by one daughter, Barbara Kay Hadley; by one son-in-law, Gordon Mattison; by one brother, Wayne Ballard; by three sisters, Winona McGee, Doris Lasater and Marie Ballard.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00 P. M. until 4:00 P. M. 

Interment will be held at a later date in the Craddick Cemetery in Licking, Missouri.

In Memory of Randall Joe Allen
Randall Joe Allen, the son of the late Fred Jenkins and Flora Belle Rife Allen, was born October 15, 1963, in Murphysboro, IL.

He served in the United States National Guard.

On October 27, 1982, in Mounds, IL, he was united in marriage to Sherry L. Parsons. She survives.

Mr. Allen died January 14, 2018, in Dexter, MO, at the age 54 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Allen of Dexter; 1 son, Randall Joe Allen, Jr. of Dexter; 5 brothers, Jimmy Thomas of Cape Girardeau, MO, Teddy Lingle of Clarksville, TN, Curt Houston of Cape Girardeau, Terry Houston of Murphysboro, IL and Brian Allen of Sarasota, FL and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 12:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel with Brother John Windings officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO.
