In Memory of George Reed
George Reed of Puxico, son of the late Anthony Leroy and Eva Marcella Clodfelter Reed, was born December 2, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on December 12, 2017, at the age of 75 years and 10 days.

He had lived in St. Louis where he worked in sales at a gun store. He moved to Puxico in the early 1990's. He had worked at Bill's Market before he retired. He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard, a member of the N.R.A. and attended the Duck Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, George F. "Fred" Reed, Jr. of Sarasota, Florida and a daughter, Susan Reed of Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers, John Reed of Albequerge, New Mexico, Robert Reed of St. Ann, Missouri, James Reed of Dallas, Texas; his companion, Janis Vargas of Puxico. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield Bro. Buck Cruse of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Willene Simpson Clark
Willene “Simpson” Clark daughter of the late William Kimbrel and Marguriete Howell Kimbrel was born on October 8, 1922 in Essex and departed this life on December 13, 2017 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 95.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter.  She had worked as a dietician at the Dexter Memorial Hospital.  She was a resident of Dexter.

On December 24, 1943 she was united in marriage to J.L. Simpson and to this union, four children were born.  Mr. Simpson preceded her in death on January 20, 1997.  She was later married to Lloyd Clark who preceded her in death as well.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Simpson of Sikeston; by two daughters, Glenda Johnson (Jimmy) of Dexter and Patty Musgrave (Mike) of Bloomfield; by one brother, William Kimbrel Jr. of Joplin, Missouri; by one sister, Shirley Statler of Arnold, Missouri; by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Wilma “Edwards” Middleton and by three sisters, Francis Kimbrel, Barbara Payne and Katy Montgomery.  

Friends may call at the Lighthouse Christian Church in Dexter on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. (Noon) until 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Lighthouse Christian Church with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

In Memory of Dortha Mathews and Betty Lou Craig

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 18, 11:00 AM at Dexter Cemetery for Dortha Chrisman Mathews and Betty Lou Chrisman Craig - twin sisters of Guy and Anna Chrisman. 

Dot passed away on July 19, 2015 in Bastrop, LA and Betty passed away on October 14, 2017 in Pine Bluff Ark. 

They were preceded in death by their husbands, A.J. Mathews and Don Craig, and brother, Jean Chrisman.



Family and friends are invited to attend the service, led by Rev. Gordon Topping.

In Memory of Rebecca Beck Frields
Rebecca “BECK” Frields, daughter of the late Joe Gilbert Clayton and Velma Elizabeth Scates Clayton was born on September 21, 1930 in Braggodocio, Missouri and departed this life on December 9, 2017 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 86 years.

Mrs. Frields, was the co-owner of Frields Plumbing and Heating in Dexter and a homemaker.
She was united in marriage to Albert Frields on November 6, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Frields preceded her in death on September 8, 2017.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Burnett of Bloomfield, Melody Savley (Donald) of Nixa, Missouri, Robin Huffman (Randy) of Dexter; by one brother, Lloyd Allen Clayton of Davis Junction, Illionis; by nine grandchildren, Michael Dale Moore, David Lee Burnett, Brian Keith Huffman, Brandy Dawn Rogers, Jamie Lee Huffman, Amy Michelle Frields, Austin Victor Miller, Lauren Rebecca Petit, and Allison Jean Holley; also by thirteen great-grandchildren, Joshua Moore, David Lee Burnett II, Kenton David Sanders, Sydney Lea Rogers, Seth Daniel Rogers, Ansley Brianna Huffman, Riley Drake Huffman, Eli Gunner Whitehead, Katelyn Brooke Frields, Kinley Danielle Frields, Anders Mathew Miller, Liza Jean Miller, and Olivia Ann Petit.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Rodger Dale Frields; six brothers, Effie Herbert Clayton, Woodrow Clayton, Verlin “PUG” Clayton, Billy Vernon Clayton, Jimmy Dale Clayton, and David “Butch” Clayton; by three sisters, Jewell “Nell” Cornell Jones, Marvis “Chris” Christine Perkins, and Katie “Lou” Louise Fields

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:00 until 12:00 noon. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Joe Payne and Donald Savley officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.

In Memory of Harold Moore
Harold Moore of Dexter, son of the late Walter Thomas and Clarkie Virginia Hicks Moore, was born in Holcomb, Missouri on February 18, 1932, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on December 10, 2017, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Harold had owned Moore's Auto Salvage in Holcomb before retiring to Greenville. He moved to Dexter 2 years ago. He attended the Seventh Day Church of God in Delaplaine, Arkansas.

On October 21, 1949, he was married to Lola Agnes Ward in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2005.

Surviving are one son, Leonard Moore, of Dexter, Missouri; three daughters, Brenda Casinger of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Linda Nichols of Springfield, Missouri, Rose Vandergriff of Dexter, Missouri; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Moore of Campbell, Missouri; one sister, Paulette Haywood of Campbell, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janie Marie Moore; one granddaughter Diane Rich; one great great grandson, Aiden Barnickle; three brothers, Vader, Cois, and Fordyce Moore; two sisters, Glenda Lewis and Annie Moore.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 18 , 2017, after 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Vision of Hope Church, 8802 County Road 765, Essex, Missouri.

Meal to follow before interment in the Lloyd Cemetery in Holcomb, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service, Inc. of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
