In Memory of Elizabeth Bell Curtis Batey
Elizabeth “Bell” Curtis Batey, daughter of the late James Elbert Rains and Linnie Mary Blankenship Rains was born in Deering, Missouri on July 12, 1924 and departed this life in Southeast Heath Center of Stoddard County, Dexter, Missouri on December 10, 2017 at the age of 93.

Mrs. Batey had retired from Brown Shoe Company of Bernie, was a homemaker and a member of Bernie Christian Church.

She was united in marriage to Harry Paul Curtis Sr. in 1950.  Mr. Curtis preceded his wife in death in 1978.  She later married Joe Batey.  He also preceded his wife in death in 2000.

Other survivors include one son, Junior Curtis of Bernie, Missouri; by three daughters, Judy Costin of Bernie, Missouri, Blanchie Minton of Dexter, Missouri and Paulette Kennedy of Bernie, Missouri; by eight grandchildren, Teddy Lowery, Clinton Costin, Tammy Telker, Vanessa Sticht, Kyle Minton, Chase Curtis, Joshua Curtis and Sarah Reding; by sixteen Great-grandchildren and seven Great-great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husbands, by two sons, William Morgan, Ronnie Dale Curtis; by one daughter, Gladys Marie Morgan in infancy; by two brothers, by three sisters.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.   

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon, December 13, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Paul Pierce officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Jamie Daniels
Jamie A. Daniels, daughter of the late Austin Mace and Cozzett Layton Mace was born on December 23, 1946 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on December 7, 2017 at her residence in Dudley, Missouri at the age of 70.

Jamie was an employee of the International Hat Factory in Dexter, Missouri and was a resident of Dudley, Missouri.

On January 10, 1974, she was united in marriage to Raymond Daniels in Dexter, Missouri.  Mr. Daniels preceded her in death on January 5, 2010.

Survivors include: two sons, Sherrill Ray Daniels and Jerry Daniels both of Dexter; by four daughters, Candy Moore and Amy Bazarian both of Dexter, Tammy Franklin of Dudley and Billie Huffman of Bloomfield; by one brother, Virgil Mace of Bloomfield; by one sister, Mary Clark of Dexter; by twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Ray “Pee Wee” Daniels and by three brothers.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. 

Services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel Saturday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. 

Interment will follow at the South Pleasant Valley (Triplett) Cemetery.

In Memory of Carl Gene Keasler
Carl Gene Keasler, son of the late Bert Keasler and Lucy Jones Keasler, was born in Parma, Missouri on January 17, 1930 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on December 8, 2017 at the age of 87.

Mr. Keasler is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  Was a retired Farmer and a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Kathryn Vieth in Vinson, Missouri on October 5, 1956.  Mrs. Keasler survives in their home in Bernie.

Other survivors include two sons, Brad Keasler & wife Debbie of the State of Michigan and Kris Keasler & wife Cathy of Bernie, Missouri; by three daughters, Kathy King & husband Paul of Cordova, Tennessee, Kerri Patton & husband Bill of Collierville, Tennessee and Kim Keasler of Lakeland, Tennessee: by twelve grandchildren; by sixteen great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by four brothers, Kenneth Keasler, Claude Keasler, Clyde Keasler and Curtis Keasler; by one great-grandson, Jackson May.

Graveside Services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.  in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors.   Pastor Dale Hartle officiating.

Brenda Sue McClain, daughter of the late Leonard Hessling and Louise Wilson Hessling was born on November 11, 1950 in Lilbourn, Missouri and departed this life on December 5, 2017 at her residence outside of Dexter at the age of 67.

Mrs. McClain was a housewife and homemaker in her own home and was a resident of Dexter.

On August 30, 1975, she was united in marriage to Billy J. McClain in Bloomfield, Mo.  Mr. McClain resides of the home outside of Dexter.

Survivors include: five sons, Mark McClain and wife Brenda of Bismarck, Mo, Daniel Slavings and wife Brenda of Dexter, Mo, Robert Slavings and wife Beth of Bernie, Mo, Bobby Slavings and wife Teresa of Dexter, Mo, and Jeff McClain of Dexter, Mo; by four daughters, Barbara Brown and husband Randy of Jefferson City, Mo, Debbie Ferguson and husband James of Fenton, Mo, Michelle Waters and husband Chris of Dexter, Mo, Melissa McLard of Bernie, Mo; by four brothers, Bobby Joe Hessling of Poplar Bluff, Mo, Lennard Hessling of Grandin, Mo, Otis Hessling of Russellville, Ar, Jerry Hessling and wife Dianna of Dexter, Mo; by four sisters, Sue Sartin of Haleyville, Al, Billie Jean George of Princeton, Ky, Alice Ward of Dexter, Mo, Jane Ann Stark of Dexter, Mo; by twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; by numerous nieces and nephews.

Faye F. Summers, daughter of the late Warren “Frank” Prichard and Loreada Wray Prichard was born on October 16, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan and departed this life on December 4, 2017 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Facility in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 80.

Faye was a homemaker and was a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary Summers of Dexter, Mo and David Lee Summers of Dexter, Mo; by one sister, Mae Ivy of Bloomfield, Mo; by one grandson, Colton Summers; by one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Frankie Williams.
