Dexter, MO - The Dexter Community gathered Sunday evening, November 19, 2017, to celebrate the annual Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Dexter Ministerial Alliance.  Friendship Baptist Church hosted the event this year.

The Friendship Baptist Church Choir led the congregation in singing several standard Thanksgiving hymns, and Bob Fralick performed the contemporary praise song “Ten Thousand Reasons.” Rev. Lonny Mittag, pastor of the hosting church, welcomed those in attendance, while Rev. Mike Williams led the Responsorial Praise. Rev. Ron Beaton offered the opening prayer and Rev. Jeff Roth read Psalm 100. Rev. Ron King delivered the Thanksgiving message, followed by Rev. Justin Sponaugle issuing the offering invitation. The Thanksgiving Litany was led by Rev. Doug West.  The service ended with Rev. Beaton leading The Lord’s Prayer, and Rev. Kenneth Biggs offering the benediction.

Eleven ministers make up the Dexter Ministerial Alliance.  The offering from the Thanksgiving service is used throughout the year to assist members of our community who are suffering financial hardship.
