

Bloomfield, Missouri - Larry White, Dexter Elks Lodge member, presented certificates and $50 checks for Savings Bonds to Bloomfield seniors Noah Hester and Delaney Mayo.
Noah is the son of John Hester.
Delaney is the daughter of Ryan and Heather Mayo.
Noah and Delaney are competing with honorees from the other county schools for the Dexter Elks Students of the Year.
Both students, along with their parents and counselor, Sara Holloway, will be honored with a banquet to be held at the Dexter Elks Lodge later next spring.
The Elks Students of the Year will be announced at the spring banquet.


Dexter, Missouri - The Keller Public Library will be the home of the MINGO Photo Contest winning photos exhibit through the month of December.
Photos feature native wildlife and plants, and people in nature. The photos show the considerable photographic talent of youth and adults in southeast Missouri.
Winter is a special time to visit Mingo National Wildlife Refuge.
Waterfowl continue to arrive on the refuge.
The resident eagles are hanging around their nests, with eagles from the north adding to their numbers.
Deer are more easily seen in the winter.
The refuge is open from daylight to nightfall every day.
The Visitor Center Wildlife with its natural history exhibits is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm during the winter months.

Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield School District will hold their Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the High School gym.
All veterans and community members are invited to attend. Please enter through the south entrance of the gym.
