

Columbia, Missouri - Educators from across the state recently attended the Missouri State Teachers Association Convention held on November 9th and 10th in Columbia, Missouri.
During the convention, over 750 MSTA delegates gathered to vote on the association’s resolutions for the coming year and to elect new leadership.
Attendees also had the pleasure of hearing the keynote speaker, Dr. Michele Borba, author of Unselfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in our All-About-Me World.

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, November 13, 2017.
Announcement of filing dates for election to the Board of Education were announced to be December 12 through January 16, 2017.
Board members whose positions are up for re-election are Judy Zoll and Gary Eaton.
Anyone interested in filing may do so in the Central Office during regular business hours.
The Board approved Program evaluations on Assessment and Health Services, the Board also approved October and November 2017 MCE Policy and Regulation Updates.
The Board approved purchasing the choice of Bernie monogrammed shirts or vest for staff members for Christmas gifts.
The Board also accepted the resignation letter from Alicia Rasmussen, Elementary Paraprofessional.
Nothing to report during Executive Session.
The next meeting of the Board of Education will be December 11.
