National Guard Represented at Back the Blue Event
Dexter, Missouri - The annual Back the Blue event started by Sue Edwards was held at the Hickory Log at noon on Friday, August 4, 2017.

August 4th has been designated as Back the Blue Day in Dexter.  A proclamation was signed in 2016 by Mayor Joe Weber and it is to be recognized annually.

Sue Edwards presented certificates of appreciation to each officer in attendance and those officers not able to join them for lunch will receive gift certificates for a meal at Hickory Log.

"It's not a lot I can give, but I want them to know just how much they are appreciated in our community," stated Edwards.

Senator Doug Libla was also on hand.  He gave thanks to the men and women who serve and spoke to the group about legislation he sponsored for police officers.

Three members of the National Guard 1221st Transportation Unit out of Dexter attended the Back the Blue honoring those who serve.

Pictured with Sen, Doug Libla are FFC Patricia McShan, Sgt. Austin Meese and Cpl. Breanna Anderson.
