In Memory of Vance Windham

Vance Duane Windham, son of the late James Vance Windham and Maudie Faye Geno Windham, was born on August 29, 1935, in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Duane passed away surrounded by close family on August 4, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 81.
Duane is a retired physical education teacher in the St. Louis school system. He was a teacher for 30 years. After retirement he spent his time with family, extensive gardening, and playing golf.
He was a member of, and attended, Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri.
Along with his parents, Vance and Maudie, one brother, Franklin “Manzy” Windham, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sisters, Martha Windham Hagler (Roger) and Joyce Windham Green (Glen); one son, Don James Windham (Vicki); two grandsons, Eric James and Ryan James Windham; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at the Booneville Funeral Home.
The visitation will take place at the Booneville Funeral Home in Booneville, Mississippi.
He will be laid to rest at the Crossroads Methodist Church in Jumpertown, Mississippi.
Officiating will be Brother Jason Franklin and Brother M.J. Pope.
