In Memory of Jimmy Ray Nix
Jimmy Ray Nix, son of the late James Nix and Vella Mae Watson Nix, was born in Winfield, Kansas on April 8, 1950 and departed this life in the ER room of Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County, Dexter, Missouri on July 29, 2017 at the age of 67. 
 
Mr. Nix had served in the United States Army.  After his service time he was a  Tanker Truck Driver.  He had worked for several different Gas Companies.  He was a member of  Okeena Assembly and a resident of Bernie.
 
He was united in marriage to Dortha Mae Callahan in Wagoner, Oklahoma on August 14, 1982.  She survives in their home in Bernie.
 
Other survivors include one son, Christopher Nix of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by two step-sons, Jerry Nichols of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Leroy Nichols of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; by  one daughter Ava Swimmer of Gore, Oklahoma; by two step-daughters, Marsha Thurston of Bernie, Missouri, Sharon Carpenter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by two brothers, Randy Nix and Ricky Nix both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by two sisters, Vicky Potter of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Linda Ayers of Denton, Texas; by 18 grandchildren and by numerous Great-Grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by one son, Billy Ray Nix; by one step-son, Gary Nichols; by one step-daughter, Tracey Wamego.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M., August 2, 2017 with Rev. Phillip Bartholomew officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
