T.S. Hill Middle School Sportsmanship of the Year

Dexter, Missouri - T.S. Hill Middle School held their annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.  Students earned awards in several subjects including Male and Female Sportsmanship of the Year Awards.

2017 Male Sportsmanship of the Year was awarded to Peyton Driskill.

2017 Female Sportsmanship of the Year was awarded to Sydney Asberry.

Presidential Education Awards Presented to Students

Dexter, Missouri - T.S. Hill Middle School held their annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.  Students earned awards in several subjects including the President's Education Award.

This award is given to 8th grade students who maintain a 3.5 of 4.0 GPA along with a teacher's recommendation to reflect outstanding achievement such as English, mathematics, science, history, geography, art, foreign language, and any other courses that reflect a school's core curriculum. This judgment is to be supported by tangible evidence that is comprised of either results on teacher-made tests, portfolio assessment, or special projects. The second recommendation from a school staff member may address, for example: involvement in community service or co-curricular activities including tutoring other students and/or demonstration of creativity and achievement in the visual and performing arts.

The following students received this prestigious award: McKayla Annesser, Ryder Boles, Bailey Chamberlain, Austin Daniels, Evan Grobe, Alanie Lacy, Layne Medler, Justin Viers, and Tara Williams.

Second Grade Students Earn 3Rs Flag

Dexter, Missouri - The second grade class of Mrs. Neslon earned the Southwest Elementary Positive Behavioral Support Reward Flag for February 2017. 

School Wide Positive Behavioral Support (SWPBS) award is presented at the start of each month at Southwest Elementary.  One classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.

The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible.  The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month.  The students are also awarded "superhero" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class.
